Everyone I know can't understand my hatred of asparagus, raspberries and filet of sole. I seem to be an extreme case to them. The first two just have that weird texture to it while the latter one is something that has less taste than tofu even with the spices.

I know people who refuse to eat any kind of fish, who will only eat tomatos if all the seeds are removed. There's my little niece who has started to pick apart her meal by removing this or that ingredient (which ones she doesn't like changes) etc. The most extreme I've ever seen was a girl who was picking off all the external seeds of a strawberry before eating it.

But more than that, what really annoys me is when people will only eat their food after it has been baked / cooked to hell and back. The kind of people who ask for a piece of meat well done, get it delivered and then ask to put it back on the fire until it's a juiceless, burned out piece of a shoe's sole.
Ugh, I just get pissed off at people insisting on absolutely destroying food before eating it :p

Hi my names Steven and I'm a fussy eater!

I hate onions as some people have said if I come across onion in food I'll stop eating it immediately. In fact i don't eat fruit or vegetables. Apart from chips or mashed potato.

I'd say it's a texture problem I have also in my mind if something smells bad to me it's gotta taste terrible.

I do want to expand what I eat but I don't see how without some kind of psychological therapy! But it seems I'm the only one of that opinion professional sources seem to think just start eating that stuff is totally fine.
They're correct. Unless there actually is something wrong with your physiology, manning up and eating a disliked food ten times while trying to enjoy it will 9 times out of 10 result in tolerance for the food.

It's how I began eating pretty much everything.

inb4 people getting all up in my business for telling someone to "man up". :p

I'm kinda weird in this regard. I'm extremely fussy and yet simultaneously not when it comes to food.

What I mean by that is that I am perfectly ready and willing to try anything, no matter what it is, once. If I haven't had it before, I will absolutely give it a shot and taste it. However, if I do not like it, I will refuse to eat it ever again, no matter what anyone claims about how it was prepared, that it tastes better/different, etc.

My younger brother and sister can't stand any type of cooked fruit. Pies, pop-tarts, the fruit in oatmeal, nothing.

I am a bit different in that regard, if I had it the same way I would never have tried coffee again, or caraway seeds, I know my tastes change so I am willingly to try things more than once, if enough time has passed since last time.

Fussy eater here, a lot of the problem is presentation and texture.
Example, I love golden delicious apples but I hated applepies till I was 16 or older, it tastes great but felt super wrong!
I don't Luke seeing onions outside of any food but hidden under a bun i'll even bare that weird crunch.

You either grow into it, get used to it or trick yourself into it.

Another thing with me, chunky veg in anything. I'll eat them when they're diced to small pieces but if I see it's larger than my finger tip? I'm eating around it.

I'm a fairly picky eater, but I've been diagnosed as a supertaster (about 1 in 4 people are supertasters) so food that other people may love I find either too rich or too bitter.

I can't/won't eat:
Celery, brussel sprouts, soy products, tonic water, olives and beer as they're all too bitter for me to tolerate

Pork (smallish amounts of ham and bacon are fine, but not much else), heavy dairy stuff like cream and custard and egg yolks (they're fine when blended in like for a cake or an omelette or something but on it's own, like for fried eggs, I can't stand the yolks), organ meats, a lot of vegetables (I have basic tastes like potato, raw carrot, raw onion, peas, beans, brocolli, corn)

I'm allergic to all seafood and shellfish
Tomato, soups and stews all trigger my acid reflux

And this is going to be weird but I can't have a lot of ice cream, it's too rich and sweet for me.

The list goes on >.<

LE TAKKO

OT:
very starchy things. potatoes, thicks breads and desserts are my pick that I won't eat. honestly, it feels like i'm eating clay. allegedly, this is to do with the composition of my saliva, or I just don't like swallowing what feels like thick, warm mud.
