I just hope it turns out better than the movies. The first one was okay, the second started off great then went to crap for the last half hour, and the last two sucked.

Is this in addition to the four films that were made that are being released on TV as Season 5?

EDIT: Reading the article, it says that this defied experts who said that after Family Guy, no other cancelled series would ever be revived. Does this mean a return for Firefly? Probably not, though a man can dream. A man can dream...

Don't universal have the rights for serenity (As I understand it fox still own the name firefly)? I have heard talk of a second movie. I really hope they do a second movie.

At first I thought this would be outdated news, but upon realizing that it's a new season, my reaction was this:

Let's hope they have the original writing staff. While the movies were good, they just lacked a bit of the humor of the series. Can't quite put my finger on what was missing, just something.

I felt similarly, I thought the movies were funny but not quite as funny... I think part of it is stretching out the material into a 2 hourish movie. Also Zoidberg.

I thought they came back to TV awhile ago but then I never saw any new episodes just the movies.

That's very awesome to hear! I prefer it to Family Guy and newer Simpsons. Season 6 of the Simpsons is always on the top of my list for me.

Count me in too. If the Fox execs don't have enough sense to bring back an epic show like that after two of their other shows came back, then I'll shoot them...politely.

Well, to get all technical about it, Simpsons never left. Family Guy is the only show to ever be brought back from the dead as it was when it was canceled as far as I know.

I can't wait for new Futurama though, as long as it doesn't go the way of Family Guy and become a bunch of recycled in-jokes that you would have had to have watched three seasons beforehand to get.

Not to get doubly technical about it, but the two shows that were canceled were Family Guy and King of the Hill.

I agree on the Firefly thing, but with the Captain doing his own show (Castle) and Summer Glau (River) doing Sarah Connor Chronicles... But I agree, we can dream...
