Valiro shrugs and hands it over, "Whatever it is, I can't read it," he sounded a little disappointed. He then slung his rifle up again and began exploring around the outer parts of the platform, looking for an exit or anything else of significance.
The pain of the enemies bite was only now noticeable as the adrenaline levels in pagos' blood stream were dropping, 'can anyone take care of this flesh wound' Pagos grunted.
'were to we go from here?' pagos asked to anyone who had an answer.
Well, since Cyrus already has a messed up forearm, lets see if we can't do something worse.
Cyrus cautiously approached the statue, and tentatively stuck his wounded hand in its mouth. Cyrus prayed the entire time that he wasn't about to lose an arm, trying to think of the reflexes he would need to pull his arm out if anything happened, and knowing that he should be able to do it.
When Cyrus' arm was thoroughly inside the statues mouth he could feel painful, quick sting. After the sting the runes on the platform powered up and began glowing. A few seconds later, after a blinding flash of light. They were on the surface again looking over the valley. "Did you get the Crystal, Cyrus your heartbeat is increasing rapidly" Mission control said after reconnecting.
Cyrus looked at his hand and could see that where the sting had been felt was a quickly fading rune of draining. The runes that teleported the group had used him as a gateway. Cyrus started feeling extremely tired and began blacking out.
It is very coincidental that your character was the one to activate it
"oh." uttered mogliss after realising exactly where he had turned up. "we're topside." he was mildly annoyed, however, as the sudden transportation prevented the scanner from finishing. "peice of junk.." he murmured.
"Thank you control... I think I realized that myself." Cyrus stated bluntly over the comm. He looked around and motioned for Justice to come over to him, unhooking the cube from his belt as he did so. He was already beginning to feel faint, his eyelids slowly dropping with each passing second.
"Justice, take the cube and make sure it gets to control. I'm afraid I won't be very reliable for the rest of this mission..." Cyrus said faintly, holding out the cube for Justice to take.
Well it didn't seem like anyone else was going to do it.
Valiro suddenly fell to his knees, his face contorted with pain, the gateway teleportation had caused his magic to flare up wildly, making it incredibly painful to suppress. With a few sharp breaths, Valiro steeled himself and rose to his full height again.
Lazarus appeared on the surface stripping down his armour almost instantly and leaving the thermal armour on the ground as he vanished. He started to look for hostiles immediately.
Lazarus spun around opening private radio to Dal's suit. "Impressive senses you have, I apologies for not responding earlier as my translator was not working. The suit is no longer necessary to remain alive and my abilities are crippled by the suit."
"hmmmm" pondered Lazarus it a series of clicks "I'll have to work on that. I am contracted to this squad and that is all. That last mission did not suit me" and in a rare moment of humour he added "literally".
"Trade secret's. Obviously we are invisible but the variable temperature of our blood allows us to avoid thermal vision. I cannot tell you anything else about our counter scanner and counter sonar abilities. The norg are difficult to avoid because you have possibly the only natural method of detecting us when we hide. We work on contracts so we choose our work. It is usually difficult to convince a Chema to work against the norg. Of course there is a range to flet detection. Snipers outside that range are effective, or so I have heard." Said Lazarus into his translator.
