I kept thinking this thread was going to be about My Little Pony. I'm not sure whether to be disappointed or not.

And does anyone actually care about G4 anymore. I'm not sure it ever was good, and it only got worse from there. You know how a lot of people dislike IGN? G4 makes IGN look like Jesus savior of gamer by comparison.

It's a mercy killing.
The channel has been on life support for years.

I will miss its glory days.
I agree. I still miss the old G4 Tech TV.

Hell, I'm still sad that Olivia, Adam, and Kevin left, and I still hate the set redesigns for X-Play and Attack of the Show.

On the topic of My Little Pony, I thought G4 meant generation 4, and I got worried when it said "rebranded." Now, I'm back to not caring.

The fuck is GQ?

*one quick Google trip later*

Is this [http://www.gq.com/] what they're aspiring to make the channel now? ... at least I was only ever interested in X-Play back when Sessler was still there, and since then Ninja Warrior was the only thing worth watching, so... I can check off another television channel that will never have any interesting shows for me.

Admittedly I was wondering the same thing, but figured Hasbro wouldn't be stupid enough to rebrand their fastest-growing franchise. Glad I was right.

On Topic: Eh, never really watched them outside of the small clips on the internet of new games that were coming out. Even then, it wasn't very often. Reading some people's comments though, it seems like it went the MTV / Cartoon Network route and completely abandoned what made it big in the first place. Can't say much was lost by this point if they really were turning into another Spike TV. (Seriously, they were / are airing The Man Show? That's just sad).

Yeah, can't say we didn't see this one coming. What with Sessler gone, what "gaming" stuff did the "gaming" channel really have left? Was anyone ever going to really watch X-play without Sessler?

Ah well. At least we don't have to acknowledge that its namesake is even remotely related to gaming anymore.

Yeah, it never ceases to amaze me when a channel called CARTOON network or MUSIC television or tv 4 GAMERS has a board meeting where they're like

"You know... I think this channel needs less cartoons"

or "less music" or "less games"

and NOBODY seems to think there's anything wrong with that. Well, maybe there was someone but they're probably dead in a dumpster somewhere.

I've not really given a damn about G4 ever since Direct TV stopped carrying it. However, I will say that it started going down the toilet as soon as they started showing COPS on the channel. I didn't mind that before then most of the shows were old reruns from years before, at least those older shows and episodes were good. Honestly the only thing that should be surprising about this to anyone is that it didn't happen sooner.

Lol, you should see my edit to that post. Yeah though, it never ceases to amaze me how so many companies in the entertainment industry know absolutely nothing about their own audiences. EA makes Dead Space a full-on action game, LucasArts destroys Battlefront 3 yet releases two Force Unleashed games, both of them make KotOR a WoW-knockoff with little to do at the endgame, Bioware makes the ME3 ending an ABC ordeal that ignores all prior events (fyi I don't play ME or TOR), Transformers is more about the humans than the titular characters, a movie based off of Battleship was made, MTV keeps airing all these "reality" shows, Spike TV shows us a live teabagging at the VGAs while announcing Mark Hamill's and Tara Strong's nominations / awards before the show without even informing them, and that's just for starters. As someone once said - "It would be funny, if it weren't so sad."
