The same thing happened to MTV when they stopped showing music videos and switched to a lot of "reality" tv. It is an annoying process that buisness run in.

First they start out with a good idea and concept and try to make it as new and original as possible. Then once they have a good following, if it doesn't go under after the first few weeks, they then try to be more inclusive by branching out and trying to reach a wider audience. This is not done to further the popularity of the product or even done for the sake of the finance of the company, no the only motivation behind this kind of behavior is money.

It is just a symptom of greed, a illness that we have no cure for.

Yea but it's a digital cable network, they can't exactly afford the rights to movies that really don't suck: like Robocop 1. As for shows like cheaters, yea, I don't know what they're thinking. Although, I think Arrested Development is one of the best sitcoms of all time so I can't argue with them putting that up.

They had some interesting stuff on yesterday for 420 but that probably blew their budget so prepare for Jamie Kennedy marathons and Police Academy movies.

The hosts of all the original shows are sometimes funny (and in the case of most of the chicks) hot but they have terrible taste: they like games like No More Heroes and TV shows like Tim & Eric Good Job Blow Me.

Hold the fuck up, No More Heroes is good man, but as for everything else you said, i agree.

I get into this misunderstanding a lot. You first have to understand that No More Heroes is in every respect a terrible game. Sure it has enough appeal that many people like it for it's humor and style but that doesn't change the fact that the game is for the most part a tedious and repetitive chore with a couple of interesting boss battles. And that's not even getting into the obviously half baked overworld and mundane minigames.

It's like the movie Mystery Men. I watch it when it comes on (sometimes just for Tom Waits) and I enjoy it, but I'm not going to go running around trying to convince people it's a good movie. It's a terrible movie I happen to like.

Tim & Eric on the other hand; I think you have to suffer some sort of debilitating trauma in your developing years to appreciate that one.

Everytime I tune in it's a fucking Cops or Cheaters marathon... I don't care for those shows at all and I'm not sure how it relates to games.

I like Adam's Soapboxes but either get him his own show or fix X-play because both him and Morgan have become increasinly annoying and robotic.

This was my first thought. They have awful reviewing, unbearable original shows, and worn out imports from other channels. I for one won't mourn its passing when the time comes.

My favorite show on there was Cinematech because you got to see games you knew and games you didnt know. Let me guess, they TOOK that off air to air shit like Cops 2.0 or Cheaters?

I pretty much only watch it for AotS, and x-play.. I liked when they put on Sasuke, and Kinniku Banzuke, as I alaways watch those when I visit friends in Nara...

I used to watch a channel in the Philippines that aired xplay and AOTS, however just before I left there they stopped xplay and aots was like a week behind. I kinda miss olivia munn, but I gotta agree that most of g4tv ( I have watched it) is like marathons, old shows or just crap. Cant they reinvent something, or have longer xplay shows or something?
