TechTV would be doable, because they weren't basically gaming BSery that was already on the internet at the time G4 actually got launched. Seriously IGN, GameSpot, GameFAQs and so many others had already been around for years by the time G4 launched.

TechTV on the otherhand was all about information technology and computer news, information, reviews, tips, tricks, tweaks, and several call in shows for tech help. To tell you how powerful the original show "The Screen Savers" was... Whenever they mentioned a website, it immediately went down due to the sudden massive increase in traffic. They actually called it "The Screen Savers effect".
I remeber that moment quite clearly. I wouldn't mind a channel like Tech-TV again, but I don't see it in any profitable future. Many gaming sites, or independents persons or organizations on YouTube picked up where Tech-TV left off before the merger. Someone did mention many of the remnants of Tech-TV went on to form their own website, or work at another network.
You can find a ton of the old TechTV faces at twit.tv, they even got the rights to "The Screen Savers" and revived the show on the site. It's a fantastic place, and really great all around. Leo and Patrick on "The NEW Screen Savers" really warmed my heart, their on set chemistry is as good as ever. Really fantastic... Plus all of the episodes of "The NEW Screen Savers" are hosted, so you can just watch 'em whenever.
Huh... interesting this might be kind of a satisfactory start.

I loved G4 back in its heyday, but with the way media consumption is now, it would probably only survive as an online dealy-o. And in some ways, it kinda has moved onto that.

- Adam Sessler (host, X-Play) went on to review games for Rev3 for a while. Then he quit (burnt out for doing the same job for so long I think), but now I think he's producing a show being made by Reed-Pop or something of the sort.

- Kevin Pereira (host, Attack of the Show) has gone on to make his own podcast (Pointless I think it's called) and Twitch show (The Attack I believe). Can't really say anything about either as I haven't exactly seen either.

- Bruce Greene (segment producer, Attack of the Show) it's my understanding that he was a part of some sort of video game site before forming Funhaus and joining the Rooster Teeth family. Dunno much, as the few Funhaus vids I've seen, I haven't really been a fan of.
And Chris Hardwick is the CEO of his own media empire, hosting shows on AMC and Comedy Central as well as running The Nerdist youtube channel. His net worth is approx $10m. Not terrible considering pre-G4 he was kinda a waste of talent. Olivia, well, she was in Newsroom - good show for its time, likely wouldn't hold up to a binge watch since it was largely topical for the news at the time. And she was Psylocke, probably a cosplayer dream if ever there was one, except her character never spoke! Net worth after a few movie appearances, Newsroom, and a short stint on the Daily Show - $12m.

I liked G4 because it was great background noise while I was gaming. Reviews for current releases were funny and pointed out blatant bugs, oversights, and other problems with games regardless of the publisher. The channel only really jumped the shark when they added alternative programming in between their gaming and documentaries. The manga versions of Blade and X-Men were not what I tuned in for but seeing Levi Meeuwenberg beat the warped wall was the start of a new sport and I thank them for that.

I discovered G4TV when it was on DirecTV. So, I have never saw TechTV. I had G4 on all the time. Mainly, to watch Attack of the Show and X-Play.

I doubt a network with nothing but gaming and technology would work today. I wouldn't mind seeing a really good videogame review show or tech & geek entertainment show. I know I have been less connected to gaming since G4 went off the air. It doesn't help that the major gaming console makers have been less interested in making games in recent years.

Why?
G4 is when TechTV went to shit.

It took a while, but Chinzilla and the constant add-on of crappy 'The Man Show' level of stuff just ruined the channel.

Yo, have you been on that Syfy Games website? There news/review feed is [straight] coming from G4!! Then again, if Vice can make a TV channel these days , then there can be another video game/tech hybrid channel like G4techTV!
Sniper Team 4 said:
that show where they just showed game clips (Cinema-something)
Cinematech by day... Cinematech: Nocturnal Emissions by night...
the weird anime that they'd dig up
Witch Hunter Robin and, especially, RahXephon...
I mean, have you seen the X-Play review for Ninja Gaiden? Hilarious.

Other than [all] that, it's still weird seeing some people call out G4 like it was the Teen Titans Go equivalent if TechTV was Teen Titans... Then again, unlike The Powerpuff Girls, I did not have a strong connection to TechTV specifically because I had no way of receiving that channel until the G4 entity, itself, happened...

Eh, either come out of there or scootch over because I didn't keep up with anybody after G4 was officially cancelled either. All I knew was Chris Hardwick really made it out the best after G4 went down and Olivia Munn became a stable actress. Everyone else I really couldn't be bothered to keep up with although I check their Wikipedia pages at random intervals maybe once or twice a year just to see what's goin' on and here's all I got off the top of my head, and I'm gonna repeat some stuff you guys already listed:

Kevin Pereira hosts a podcast- and by the way he does Hack My Life on truTV. I watch a few episodes, it was alright, Kevin's a bit more scripted than he was on Attack Of The Show but every once in a while his old personality shines through, I know not everybody likes him but I always thought he was hilarious.

Anyway.

Adam Sessler did Youtube for a while but now I don't know what he or Morgan Webb are doing except that they've covered this and last year's E3 and that was nice to see.

Chris Hardwick's livin' large with the Nerdist and his AMC post-shows.

Everyone else, pffft, I have no idea. Blair Herter married Jessica Chobot but I don't know what they're doing professionally and Blair Butler, Alison Haislip, Kristin Adams, Zach Selwyn, Sara Underwood, I got nothin' unless I look them up, which I've been doing as I've been listing them to make sure I got their names right and nothing's really catching my eye and while they're certainly not getting a star on Hollywood Boulevard anytime soon, they're at least successful in they're current fields and that's good.

Totally possible but unlikely as hell and not entirely wanted by most.
But would this mean we get back Icons and Cinematech? Maybe Electric Playground? Or if hell freezes over, Star Trek/TNG 2.0.

Funny, as the G4 site I think stopped coverage of stuff back in 2014. It's up to date?

You had to remind me that they had a channel.

Dammit man, now I really want another general video game/tech/weeb channel. I don't even care if I have to pay an assload for it. GIVE IT TO ME NOW.

Apparently... I read their review of Ratchet & Clank for the PS4...

And I will keep reminding people that Viceland is a thing! So, no one can say that there's no market for a video game/tech channel hybrid if Viceland is a thing!!

Ouestion: Can it replace the Syfy channel? Sure, they're going to cover this years's Comic-Con, but given how much Spike TV is paying to NOT get replaced by begging to still cover E3 as part of some post-contract agreement, Disney XD refusing to also cater to adults tech-wise (let alone game-wise), and VICELAND BEING A THING, sacrifices mst be made for the great good!

That's totally amazing and makes me wonder how they're still getting paid.

But at the same time Toonami doesn't have its' own channel and the Funimation channel has been axed from the packages of most providers. Inconsistency!

I'd happy put the bullet in Syfy to get a G4/TTV channel that can take up the old anime branding or crush Syfy's face in for axing Ani-Monday.

Make it 24/7 nerd and I'd pay HBO premium for that shit. Put the bullet in Spike for that matter while we're at it.

Put the bullet in everything so every channel is G4. Jin-Roh on Disney latenight!

Bring back X-Play and AOTS before it became Oliva Munn's Boobs: The Show. Also license Sasuke again. That would be amazing.

Syfy Games Credits? Wil Wheaton's private phone number? Cameos on any Syfy original series that's not a reality show??

Well, we can't have Funimation Presents Toonami (sponsored by Crunchyroll) because Boomerang changed face the same way TV Land did before it was Hot in Cleveland! Also, who even provides the Funimation channel besides Funimation and, inadvertently, Crunchyroll??

Oh glob! I'm still pissed about no Ani-Mondays! Double pissed that Syfy's sister-horror channel Chiller had one and cancelled that shit faster than you could say "Monster is The Fugitive of anime"!
Make it 24/7 nerd and I'd pay HBO premium for that shit. Put the bullet in Spike for that matter while we're at it.
24/7 is ideal since we can even through it some X-rated OVAs into the mix... Still, we can't kill Spike because, just like the mob, it's own by Viacom... and the last time someone fucked with them, NickMom happened... What was even NickMom? EXACTLY!!
Put the bullet in everything so every channel is G4. Jin-Roh on Disney latenight!
Even the channels that showcase anime when they feel like it? That's so savage! ...But, fuck it! #G4Life

I think I'd be happy with G4/TTV being a program block a of few shows similar to X-play, AotS/Screensavers, and SOME type of original cartoon show or shorts in the vein of Code Monkeys or Happy Tree Friends.

As far as anime goes, I'd probably stick with Crunchyroll, but it was Techtv and Toonami that gave me the first of glimpses of anime with some of the best shows that have YET to be topped or even rivaled.
