It was announced on the 20th that Gabe passed away from a heart condition.

If you don't know who this dog than allow this video to explain.

This is kind of hitting me harder than it really should, I don't know why I'm so goddamn sad about this maybe it's because I know what it's like to lose a dog. I hope he keeps borking in the sky.

To vaguely quote the WeRate_Dogs Twitter feed.

"He's a good dog Bront."

I saw this and I wondered if he did a Dragonheart "To the Stars" remix, but alas, he did not. Would have been perfect.

I guess the regular version will do.

I literally have no idea who this dog is. By the sounds of it he had a good run anyhow.

They also said their own goodbye to Gabe.

OT- Imma be honest, I'm kinda sad over this. Not heartbroken or anything, but kinda sad. I suppose it's hardly any different than mourning the death of a celebrity, but I do feel a bit embarrassed about feeling sad over the death of a meme dog.

I've seen Gabe in passing. It was a cute little thing.

Was sort of obnoxious seeing those streams always pop up in my Facebook feed though with him being remixed to music. I know that was the whole point, but I don't like being forced to see it.

I didn't expect to be a little upset though. I was, but only a little. I didn't know the dog personally nor the people that owned him, and from what I've read he was rather old already and lived a good life.

Pets dying does always break my heart. Literally the day before this past Christmas my dad called to tell me that his last dog was dying and asked if I wanted to see him. *sigh*

The song "Bronte" by Gotye can get me to tear up a bit as well. It's a song literally all about a family watching their pet pass on.
