Chis decided to get something to get something to eat and then get some rest.
He tried to find the cafeteria, but got quickly lost. All he could think was about his helicopter. How did it fall like that? I know I tied the thing down, but it still fell like it was nothing.
He wandered until he finally found the mess hall. He got some food, found an empty table, and began eating. Alone in his thoughts. He was determined to find a way off the boat, and back into civilization. He just didn't know how yet.

"Okay Karl I realize this. What do you suggest to do? You know more about these thing than I. If you have any ideas to fix it please inform me of them."

O'Reilly awoke to the sounds of silence. It was not a reassuring noise. The last thing you want to hear in the middle of the bloody ocean is the lack of an engine. He had never sailed this far north before, but he still knew the dangers. Squalls can come from nowhere, sinking the foolhardy and the timid alike. The sea, he had heard sailors say, was the true master of a ship. The sea alone decided who made port at the end of a voyage.

Bobby left his spartan cabin, climbing on deck to take in the scene. He saw the Captain and the crew standing around, debating. There was no time for words now. The Captain needed to take command, and reign things back in with a clear strategy. Bobby knew his place, and knew better than to get involved with Michael Gross. However, things needed to get done, and they needed to get done now.

O'Reilly noticed Mikiel standing off to the side of the main group. Mikiel seemed a more sensable man, as most first mates usually were.

"Sir, we need to get this tub movin' agin. I knows that a storm will kick up sooner or later, an' we don't need ta be here when it does. Maybe we should send some men down ta the ice, an' try breakin' it up by hand. Least we could break it up near the stern, an' when Karl gets 'er runnin' agin we can throw 'er in reverse an find thinner ice."

I just thought you were generalizing everyone being against you. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

"What is wrong with the boat? We're in the piss we are, thats what's wrong."
Pushing the last of the egg onto toast and chewing thoughtfully, the reporter continued.

"In all seriousness? I'm here cause I'm getting paid. I'm sub-contracted to some big wig out of New York," Shanks paused to pick a piece of particularly stubborn bacon from his teeth, "and he's probably being paid out of the coffers of the New Yorker or some other big issue street press, we're all middle man see? Anyway, he tells me he wants me on a boat charted to unknown waters and has two stories for me.

"First, he wants a page 4 on this 'Artificial Intelligence'," he gestured expansively with the hip flask "you know about it right? Meant to control the ship without any crew, and a fat lot of good it s'doing I might add. So this big wig wants a story, but knowing the recent issues Galt Inc. has, and in case its a flop and there is no story, subcontracts the thing and I pick it up.

"The second story is a fluff piece bout Mr. Galt and how great he is and how the company is going gang busters, but between you and me I reckon that was financed by Galt himself,"

Burping loudly, he screwed the top back on the silver vessel.

"So thats me, what's a chef like you doing in a place like this?"

Jimmy smiled at Shanks. "Alright, I know how stupid this is going to sound; but I'm going to tell you any way, because I like you Shanks." He quickly looked around the room to make sure no one else could hear then motioned Shanks towards him. "I always wanted to be a pirate." Again his naughty boy grin returned to his face. "I know how stupid it sounds, but hey. Kids gotta dream don't they? So I figure this is as close as I'll get. So here I am. Of course that's not the only factor." Jimmy now leaned wish his back against the bench, face turned to keep eye contact with Shanks. "There never is truely one factor to anything. But its the main one; I guess I was just getting bored you know, same thing every day, day in day out." He shook his head thoughtfully. "Just got to be too much for a dreamer like me, so I lied my way onto this ship;" again he motioned for Shanks to enter the intimate conversation zone. "I'm not really a chef, can you tell?" He pulled away from Shanks again, with his grin spreading form one end of his face to the other.

"But yeah, in a nut shell that's my story. The hopelessly lost dreamer." He turned around so he was leaning on the bench again, stretching out his back behind him. "Hey Shanks, do you think we might be in trouble now?" He had to say it, as it was nibbling away at him. He really couldn't take the worry. "I mean, what if something has gone horribly wrong out here in the middle of nowhere. I would hate to be staking our chances for survival on some sort of untested AI." Jimmy thoughtfully took to sucking on barely sugar from a packet he kept in his pants pocket. "To help with the cooking, so you don't get tempted to eat anything." He said in explanation as he offered the packet to Shanks.

Jim really kind of hates these people in general and about the Captain thing, I know that you're the captain. But Galt really does seem like the commanding officer at this point, he has bodyguards and everything and he is paying for the expedition. Jim tends to follow the man with the money, typically.
EDIT:
Getting right up close to Covolt's face, Jim began to shout.

"Thanks for insulting me, there's nothing you can do to help you...you...amateur! Do you think what I do looks easy? Because it's not, working with this equipment takes months, even YEARS of training to do well. So NO, there's nothing you can do to help, you glorified Cartographer. Now fuck off and look through a periscope or something. I got better stuff to do then sit here and have both my intelligence and my profession berated by some pencil pushing asshole!"

Jim stormed out of the bridge and over to a railing outside, he needed some air, the idiocy was starting to get to him.

Tsurugi nods to Ivan and then Killion. "I guess I'll be back soon then." He then rushes out of the room heading in the direction of the kitchen.

Tsurugi felt slightly irritated that Ivan had sent him on this errand after he had said he probably had work to do but he supposed if he wanted to be a doctor errands like this would be a common occurrence. Still his main reason for giving the excuse that he had something to do was to get out and see what was going on around the ship, though he would have liked to hear more on what Killion thought about the situation.

Looking around he noticed people miling around in a near-panic state. He could see people running down to the lower levels with a purpose and he assumed those were the mechanics sent to try and fix the boat. Deckhands scurried around cleaning things that had fallen over onto the deck and he felt a pang of guilt that he was slacking off on his job and others would have to do more work because of him. Turning down a side hallway Tsurugi noticed that the farther he got from the main area the less people there were. There were still a few people running here and there but nothing compared to the amount on the main deck.

Arriving at the kitchen he looks around for the chef and notices him talking to the reporter. Interrupting their conversation was probably not the most polite thing to do but he wanted to get the alcohol for Ivan and get back as quickly as he could. "Excuse me, Sir. Ivan would like the alcohol you keep down here. Its for anybody that gets hurt, to numb the pain of course."

Chris overheard Tsurgi asking for alcohol.
"Hey, I got a full bottle of Whiskey here, will that do?" He pulled a bottle from his jacket and offered it to the man.

Jimmy turned away from Shanks as Tsurugi approached. "Needs my what?" Asked Jimmy in surprise. He guessed it made sense, but still he was loathed to forgo all of his alcohol. That just seemed wasteful. "Umm yeah okay. I can get it for you." Going to the back shelves of the kitchen he fished out a few bottles; gin, vodka, even cheaper and nastier gin, and a few bottles of red and white wine. He didn't however fish out his personal bottle of whiskey. You never could be too cautious. As Jimmy removed the bottles he placed them on the bench beside him, then grabbed up a big black garbage bag and moved them all into that. He tested the bag for strength, decided that it wouldn't hold, and promptly double wrapped it before returning it too Tsurugi. "There you go mate. Enjoy."

The crunch of snow was broken by the sound of metal hitting metal as Jim walked down the stairs of the bridge's outer railing, so mad that he could hardly stand it.

"'Got talk into some static' Who the FUCK does he think he is?!?? He's just a goddamn commie. Fuck him. Fuck this whole trip. I need a drink!"

Stomping down into the kitchen, he shoulder bumps Tsurugi, who was going up.

"Watch where you fuckin' goin', China Man!
I was just playing the character.
Also, I feel like I've sort of fucked myself over with this character. Everyone's gonna think I'm the murderer when the time comes.
