When I went the Stormcloak route on my first playthrough of Skyrim. First time that I ever dumped my first character. I found out the stormcloaks were essentially the KKK of Elder Scrolls. I just felt dirty.

Can't say that a game ever made me feel horrible...at least not for any lasting period of time.

If I play Bioshock and go evil on the little sisters I might feel torn the first time.
But each subsequent time I embrace the evil act.

Some games offer choices that are so over the top you can't help but laugh.

I played 'evil' in Bioshock Infinite even though it doesn't have a true good/evil mode.
In doing so I took joy in disgusting Elizabeth with finishers and acted out as a violent racist prick whenever possible.

I guess I don't take role play seriously enough to truly get invested in the morality of it all.
Escapism at it's finest.

Started playing(?) Katawa Shoujo this week.....yeah I know I'm late to the party but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Anyways, never having played(?) a Visual Novel before I didn't really know what I doing, didn't put much thought into my choices. Next thing I know the main character is falling off a roof to his death along with a bottle of whiskey.

Felt kinda shit after that...

And I know for sure that every clan gets at least some added dialogue for them specifically. Can't say whether each clan has as drastic an effect of Heather as the Malks do, not all of them are quite so... extreme after all, but there's always clan specific dialogue to be found somewhere.
It was either the Ventrue or the Toreador that tells the cabbie "Dude, here is 5 bucks, buy an air freshener" or something - I laughed at it. Speaking to Gary as a Toreador is just adoring, Andrei understandably has a grudge against the Tremere, and being a Gangrel adds some dialogue to Beckett. These are the major ones I can think of, plus just an altered line here and there for some of the clans[footnote]a Toreador throws in something like "you're of my clan" when you try to persuade Ash to stop whining and moping but the other clans have a different line there - the effect is still the same[/footnote]. Oh and there are the Nosferatu - they are the second best clan in the game in terms of dialogue (of course Malks win) - who can resist the Nosferatu's charms "C'mon, I like cuddling and long walks on the beach", or "But I've got heart! Wanna see it?" and the ultimate pickup line "Once you go gross, nothing else comes close". The Nos are just players like that.

Keep meaning to replay the game again for the, hmm, fourth time? Think it's fourth. Time to give Gangrel a try I think.
I've literally lost count of how many times I played the game. After I installed it for the first time, I played it with all 7 clans straight away. Then down the line I replayed each clan at least twice at various points in time but I have a several more playthroughs on top of that - I've played a Malk at least five times (because - awesome), for example, at least four for the Nos (because - also awesome) and few others. I won't be surprised if I soon hit a 50th replay

By the way, the new Unofficial Patch has some more restored content - a whole new level. But if you haven't tried Clan Quest Mod - install and play CQM because it's friggin awesome! Unfortunately, it runs on a slightly older UP (7.9, to be precise, the library was restored in 8.0 or 8.1 - current latest is 8.6) but it's a really small price to pay. CQM is actually a collection of mods in addition to the CQM itself - you even get a nice launcher that asks you what to install. The mods range from some reskins, to more atmospheric mods that add new music and DJs to play it in the clubs, to some overhauls of the mechanics, like Camarilla Edition (completely changes how the Disciplines operate and feel plus lots more changes - look up the manual which is included).

But Clan Quest Mod is a real gem even by itself - adds a new unique quest for each clan that is in line with the clan itself (dig up some info as a Nosferatu, solve some arcane mystery as a Tremere, etc), plus some more general quests and new NPCs and events (there are some quests for evil characters - like hitman missions). Oh, and I should just throw in that the CQM has voiced lines (well, most of them, at least) - the guy who did id, managed to fine some people who do voices really well. OK, generally, if they are voicing an existing NPC you'd notice the difference[footnote]Although, kudos to the guy who did Max - the most significant difference to the original was that his sound files were quieter. I was blown away by how how well he performed. And the new VA for Jeanette is quite good, too - minor difference there but could pass unnoticed. Erm, although, the guy who did new lines for the Red Spot seller was quite obviously different. Especially since right after finishing the new dialogue, you get the old lines of him going "Hi, welcome to the Red Spot". Still funny, though[/footnote] but it's a fan made thing that has to contend and fit with really high profile professional VAs, I can give them a free pass for the differences. The lines for the new NPCs, however, are top notch. Overall, the voice acting in the mod is probably the best I've seen from any fan made mod, too - despite having differences with the original NPCs, the delivery itself is rather well done.

Most important thing to mention for CQM, however, is it adds Kalliyan and her quest in Chinatown. It is probably the best player made quests I've played. It's interesting, it's well written, the NPC is really good, and the quest itself fits perfectly into the game - theme, mood, story - it's top notch and it matches the game so well. I don't mean to put down other mods - I've seen other fan made content also pull off really good quests and stories - but the thing is, usually you can tell, since the mods differ at least a bit the original game itself. Or in the case of the Elder Scrolls series, the games don't really have a consistent feel in the quests, so having something "fit in" is not really an accomplishment at all. Heck, mods that add good stories even stand out compared to the rest. But Kalliyan just nails it - both Bloodlines and the wider setting itself.

Two moments in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together:

In Chapter 1, participating in the massacre at Balmamusa. Sure, it happens regardless of what you choose to do, but no one ever lets you forget the choice you made if you chose to take part in it.

Then in chapter 4, failing to talk Catiua out of taking her own life. This also leads to one of two of the Bad Endings.

More like "You Bastard: The Game."

Cheating on Liara with Garrus in my first playthrough of ME2. At first I didn't mind it for, oh, a few hours of gameplay. Then I went to the Captain's Quarters to mess around with my armor, and noticed Shepard had turned the portrait of Liara on her desk face-down.

Instant heart-break.

M'yeah, I had to re-load a much earlier save and re-play the past few hours of the game to resolve that little guilt trap.

Of course I didn't learn from my mistake and, on my second, Garrus-lover playthrough (nuking a proto-romanced Kaidan and telling Liara I wasn't into girls) I ended up wondering if there'd be any kind of consequence for cheating on Garrus with Liara in ME3.

Nothing. Not even acknowledged in dialogue.

I felt bad. Until Garrus and Tali hooked up. I guess we just needed to get past that!

Infamous 2's bad ending left me with not only a bad taste in my mouth, but the final cutscene was just insult to injury

Not only do you decide to annihilate all of man kind side by side with The Beast, but you kill your best friend Zeke in the most emotional 3 button presses ever. Oh no it gets better, after killing your best bro you destroy mankind's last hope, and then The Beast feels "guilty" soon after. You then take John's place as The Beast, you and your conduit friends take over the world, but end up taking more lives then actually saving them.

God it hurt so much...

Dishonored - the non-lethal option for getting rid of Lady Boyle. I was trying for Clean Hands on my first playthrough.
I walk into the Boyle mansion, sniff around for clues to the identity of my target, when some creepy dude whispers to me: "I will take care of Lady Boyle for you" and I thought: "I don't have to get my hands dirty. Yes please!" He tells me to bring Lady Boyle, unconscious, to the cellar. When I dump her body on his boat, he tells me that he's going to take good care of her. And then he sails off with her. That's when I realize that I just doomed that woman to be his sex slave for the rest of her life.
I felt so disgusted with myself. That was a non-lethal option?!
And that is why I hate the game. You get called an asshole by Sam the Boat man for killing the targets, but making them sex slaves, or mute slave labourers, or ruining their life so badly that they get infected with the plague and become one of those zombie like people, Sam the Boat man is A OK with that.

OT: I felt kinda bad when I got Alastair to become a bum in Dragon Age 2. I figured in the first game he would just fuck off and be a Templar or mercenary. NOOOOPE! He wastes his life in the Free Marches getting drunk of his ass and it's all my fault.

I probably have a pretty fucked up psyche when it comes to games, but the only time I've cared was when I missed the QTE in Assassin's Creed II to give Leonardo a hug and he looked so sad afterwards, and I felt like such an asshole!

Incorrect actually, you can kill all of your targets and still get the low chaos ending. It's only when you start murdering innocents and random guards just doing their jobs that you'll have begun to go 'too far'.

Never tried the Clan Quest Mod, although I have heard of it and even had it bookmarked already for a future playthrough. I'll definitely be giving it a try then!

First of all, I must laugh at you for getting that ending.

Second, if you thought that was bad just wait until you get a bad ending in the routes. I've only completed Emi's route, and I have to say that the bad ending is really quite sad, but I hear it is nothing compared to Hanako's ending...

Really? Cause I didn't murder anybody but the targets and still had Sammy call me an asshole because I killed the people who were gonna kill me. I dunno, maybe mine was just a glitch or maybe I was seen too much, but I really can't recall killing anybody but the targets.

Not taking Hanako's route in Katawa Shoujo makes me feel just awful. I mean all the other girls are good but... Hanako. Hanako is best. Choosing to not take her route is criminal.

I've heard that her bad ending is like SUPER bad. I would look it up but as far as i'm concerned, avoiding it in my playthrough means I have earned the right to never see it ever.
I got Hanako's bad ending on my first go. Heart breaking, to say the least.

[sub][sub]I like Lilly better. Lilly is my favorite of the cast...[/sub][/sub]

The Walking Dead: Upon reaching a certain area in Episode 1, Clementine tells Lee she has to pee. Whichever dialogue choice you make, Lee has a harsh tone with Clem. Kinda dick-like. Makes me sad every time.

Not that it is on par with everything else people have said but it still made me laugh, then reload.

In Bioshock (first one - I'm gonna spoiler tag this anyway even though Im sure most people have played it),

when you get rescued by Tennebaum near the end and you're in her safehouse with the little sisters, they were all talking about how nice and awesome I am for saving them. I was looking for the exit while seeing if anything was worth taking with me, and found two girls sitting at a table with (pep?) bars in front of them. I ate one, to which one of the girls looks up at me says "Heey. That was mine!" 0.0 I know, it's something so stupidly minor and insignificant in the grand scheme of things but I found the idea of this angel of a man, come to save all the little girls from their underwater hell, scoffing down a girls candy bar RIGHT IN FRONT of her hilarious but still a bit dickish. "I've been nice all day! Give me a break!!"

So yeah, RELOAD! XD

This one time, I chose to dump White Phosphorus on a bunch of soldiers. The game warned me I shouldn't, but I just DIDN'T LISTEN!
A certain game's spoiler.

Well, to be fair, I did say no Spec Ops for the simple reason that the game doesn't give you a choice. In order to continue the game and advance the story, you HAVE to do that, so it takes away any real negative effect it may give the player. At least to me. This thread is about the consequences to actions that the player actually chooses. When you look back at something you've done in a game, it will hit harder knowing it's your fault, rather than the game's (by that, I mean the game being linear).
Oh, sorry, I didn't see that restriction, plus I was just being silly. :)

In Dantes Inferno I used the quick time event to absolve every single unbaptised baby I came across. I didn't care that they were deformed mutants with knives for hands I wasn't going to hurt them and so didn't use any other attack on them for the entire game.
