As alot of you frustratingly know, Turbine has won the Escapist's "Developer" of the year 2 years running. Well, not because of fact but because of the loyal fanbase they have. Turbine's recent string of debacle's has forced me to re-evaluate that loyalty to them and was just wondering what others outside of the Turbine community would do. Though I do not post much on any forum other than the Guild I represent in game, I do read a vast amount of what others have to say. So, here is the rundown:
June 2008 - Mod 7 Released
August 2008 - Announcement that Mod 9 release around Anniversary date (March 2006)
November 2008 - Mod 8 Released
March 2009 - Announcement....Coming Soon Mod 9
April 2009 - Announcement....Coming Soon Mod 9
May 2009 - Announcement....Coming Soon Mod 9
June 2009 - Announcement....DDO:EU
June 2009 - Coming Soon DDO:EU
July 2009 - DDO:EU Release Date August 4 2009

Hello everyone,
A few moments ago we made the announcement that DDO Unlimited?s launch date is being moved to September 9, with early access for VIP's beginning on September 1. You can read the announcement by clicking here, but here?s a quote from Executive Producer Fernando Paiz:
?We?ve had a tremendous response to DDO Unlimited from the players and press who are participating in our beta program,? said Fernando Paiz, Executive Producer of DDO Unlimited. ?We?ve been holding a series of live events as part of the beta program and have seen an unprecedented level of participation from players. While we are very pleased with the performance of the game and are excited about the response from the players, we are committed to delivering a high-quality experience. We feel that more time is needed to deliver on this commitment. As a result, we are delaying our launch to ensure that we can support the massive increase in players that we are expecting and deliver them a free to play experience like none other.?
We know many of you will be disappointed at this news (so are we!). The DDO Unlimited beta will continue as we tune our systems and add more capacity. Stay tuned for upcoming beta events as we work to complete this extended beta cycle.
We want to thank you for your continued participation in the beta, and assure you that we're working as quickly as possible to resolve the remaining issues, add the finishing touches, and launch DDO Unlimited on September 9!
- So, do these past events sound like a "Developer of the year" would do to their fan base?
- Would you stick around over BS such as this?
Yeah, its quite the drama over there right now with alot of pissed off people. Turbine is actually removing posts because people are speaking their minds. ( http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=193961 )
