I won't be judging much, but one of my old favourite web series involved a luchador-like character responding to people's e-mails in funny ways. That's how Strongbad became the most popular character in the Homestar site.

Till then, Sturgeon's Law is in place.

I have to admit I was one of the naysayers in the trailer thread, but colour me interested now. Yeah it was just a short joke but I'm seeing some potential here, perhaps a little unrefined but hey, that's how all the shows on The Escapist start out.

You know, thus far I've refrained from commenting on gamedogs because plenty of other people had already said what I would have. Twice. But I gotta hand it to Pitts and his crew (get it? Pitt's Crew?) for handling this all so well. This little clip has convinced me to actually give the series a shot.

Can we all agree assuming a series will be good or bad from a fucking trailer is ignorant?
Thank you.

I'd also like to say that there's a lot of complaining about this show in relation to others, along the tune of, "Oh, this will be utter dumbgay, X is so much better, this will be terrible like Y". This strikes me as rather counter-progressive thinking. It's like TV. You don't have to watch every show on a given TV channel. It is possible to just watch the shows you like. And demanding that every show meets your personal standards of quality propels you right into Jerkassville, with it's lovely scenic hotspots and my eternal hatred.
Pfff-Bwahahaha! that "X is so much better, this will be terrible like Y" remark made me laugh!
Way to hit the nail on the head...

It's even more perplexing that kind of attitude is on a site dedicated to web toons, it's not like you have to turn off the computer and wait for Game Dogs to be over before you can watch Zero Punctuation, you CHOOSE what to watch, when you wanna watch it.

In fact, some might say that's the whole point of sites like this.

A, dog boobies, who cares? There have been far more crude things in animation and life. Just look at the Fritz the Cat movies as one small example.

(Potential spoilers)
B, watched the episode of Apocalypse Lane. The beginning had moments of sort of funny, with the president guy and his rubber ducky... but then it goes to the rest of the cast of characters in a store talking about kazoo cat along with a psychopathic bird. Was anything beyond the intro supposed to be funny? If so, then I just don't get it.
Alright, i was reading your comments LordHoban... and i think you are just a very dull humourless person. Nothing you have said has been witty or funny rather its been whinny and graiting. It seems like you got some grudge because UR became god awful and got axed.

I loved UR and then it became that wierd uncle... who used to be cool and now your just like no... leave me alone please.

Apocolypse Lane is good and entertaining, it has continued to be so. I never came to escapist expecting to find a Always Sunny In Philidelphia or Family Guy but i get a kick non-the-less.

Ah... feels better. I didnt get the trailer of the Game Dogz... this i was amused. Hope it continues to get better.
Did I ever attack you personally? Cause, you certainly feel the need to attack me. I didn't realize it was my job to be witty or funny for your amusement.

I'm glad you can make such judgements on me being a humourless person based on the few posts you've seen me write that were never meant to be filled with humour, yet I can't make my own judgements on a show based on what the creator(s) have decided to show (a show that's supposed to be funny and witty and whatever). Or even a show I've given ample time to be funny (I even asked someone to recommend an episode and watched it! If that's not giving it a fair shake, I don't know what is).

Everybody has different tastes and not everyone will agree. There's no sense attacking others personally because their tastes don't align with your own. What's the point in it?

I have to say, what's winning me over the most is the characters. They aren't very developed now and they aren't as varied as say, Apocalypse Lane, but I see some potential for some relatable personalities here...

Just don't go for publicly acceptable personalities (Like, don't make the 'tokin' girl' into a broad tomboy stereotype, you'll lose allot of respect in no time, trust me!) go for unique. Unique trumps public demand in my opinion. For instance, I can see myself really liking that Chinese Crested character. I've only heard two lines from him and he's already captured my interest. He kinda looks like an Andy Warhol eccentric. (I know that's just the hair making me think of Warhol, but still, he's different at least)

That was very good. :D
To be truthful I didn't have high expectations of it but I'm quite excited to see it now.
Still surprised by how much hate the announcement of it got.
That is the internet for ya.

The point of a trailer is to pique interest, and give a taste of the series. You know, making people want to watch it. So it's not 'just a trailer'. Oh boy! Another character with a Napoleon complex in an office setting. I can't wait. At least the shitty animation reminds me of the old days of the internet.

I'm quite honestly shocked that all the questions weren't about furries.
Just most of them, amirite?
Really, does it matter if they are furries or not? just watch the damn show 4 what it is.

At first I thought it looked a bit... how you say... Creepy?

I can never look at anthropomorphic animals without visions of a few horrible images I once saw involving them.

But this made me chuckle.

Like I said in the other forum. A Furrie is an anthromorph. THESE ARE NOT FURRIES. Just relax and enjoy the show people, oi.
They are not furries, but they are anthropomorphic (having human characteristics).

I guess it really is up to the veiwer (and maybe the artist lol) though I consider anthropomorphs more human shaped in body. These seems like animals that stand upright and speaks.
