um.... not very funny at all, the only comedy was the after credits reference, it was not foreshadowed in the least besides that one contest so it's a completely unnecessary plot screw up, and dark without needing to be. this show was light of tone humor before now, where did that go? the only other time was Bob's flashback. Hell, kill off bob and get the light of tone back. Apocalypse lane had a dark tone, but it fit and was still amazingly funny, same with doomsday arcade at many times, but here, it's not needed and just unnecessarily grotesque. sick for the purpose of being sick.

If I see one more game dogs episode like this I am calling it quits and giving up on the series.

Rather tasteless. I mean, there was no point to that. There's no reason those characters died. None at all. It was handled very poorly. I'm not saying it was too shocking or too disturbing. Actually, it was barely disturbing at all. I've seen End of Evangelion, and I've read Gantz. Those are disturbing. This... not so much. Anyway, I just want to say it was very poorly done. It wasn't funny, if that's was what you were going for, and brutalizing her mangled body because she wsa still alive? Poor form. Talk about kicking the dog, no pun intended. Not to mention the meaningless suicide at the end. Roger had no reason to commit suicide AND suicide isn't funny. I spent too much time convincing certain people NOT to commit suicide to be able to laugh at that. My best friend in high school tried to slit his wrists because he "couldn't take it anymore". Do you think that's funny? Its not.
Needless to say, I'm not watching the show anymore. I've watched every episode up to this point, giving it chance after chance to be funny and likable, but this was the last straw. Knives R' Us stands as the only good episode as far as I'm concerned.

Yay for gratuitous cartoon gore and violence. Not sure why everyone is sooooo offended by the video. Yay for artistic rights and license I say lol.
You know very well why people are offended by this video. Not so much offended, though, as unhappy with this. I don't think this is what any of us signed up for.
And really, "Yay for gratuitous cartoon gore and violence"? Seriously?
Do you think that its "EXTREME!!!!" or "Kewl" or something? At best, you're apathetic about it, and you only say you like it because you think it will make you seem hardcore and special. At worst, you're a genuine sadist and need mental help.
And trust me, mental health issues are not as cool as they're made out to be in anime and TV. Not making an effort to properly handle mental issues just make you a burden on society.
I dunno, do people find Bugs Bunny hitting Elmer Fudd with a large hammer as he chased the rabbit with a shotgun wanting to kill him offensive? I guess so if we're going to live in a world where everything has to be clean, crisp and on the collar (no pun intended) to make everyone happy.

I'm not "xtreme" or "kool", just another 26-year old artist/writer who supports people's rights with their artistic license. I do find it funny you think I have mental issues and a stain on the blackened sheet that is the public view of society just from two sentences, bravo. You should be a therapist or something, lol.

I found the episode funny because it had funny dialogue that encompassed the expressions and views of people who have commented on the series over the past year along with the law book bit and such. Plus, yes, I couldn't stop watching the dangling eye, classic stuff there lol.

I'll part with a line from the popular web-series, Red vs Blue, from Sarge for you to psycho-analyze: "I love blood and violence! I got a boner for murder!"
Just to butt in, I agree with Erana on this. If you can find an episode of Looney tunes with as much gore as was in this, then fair game. Also, their is a big difference between audible humour and visual. This seems in very bad taste, it would be nice if they put up a warning on this. They have the right to publish what they want, and if they found it funny as people on this site has, fair enough. A heads up would have been nice though.

1. I just pointed out that I wasn't so much offended as I was appalled that they would throw something like this out of nowhere with no warning. I don't like watching someone innocent getting beat to death while verbally denegrated. I just said I'd watch something like that if it were used in an intelligent manner, but not when its, "Oh, hi, we're taking this crude comedy humor show and turning it into a furry snuff film without warning!"

2. I don't think you have mental issues. I was just pointing that out as a possible reason for why a person would be able to enjoy gratuitous violence handled so callously. I do think you say that you find it funny because the groups and people you want associate yourself with endorse finding violence funny.

3. I didn't say you were a stain on society. I'm completely serious. My mother worked for years at the local asylum, so I've grown up aware of the implications of mental health issues. I have friends who have some mental health issues, and when they don't take care of their problems, they cause pain and problems for the people that care about them. Or how about my goddamned father, who instead of getting help for his many issues, abusing the people I love physically and emotionally for years while wasting his trust fund, stealing my sister and my inheritances, and now trying to get welfare even though he hasn't paid taxes in years, making himself a literal burden on society? Oh, and this sadist hurt my dog. He killed at least four dogs, injured and caused many other dogs heat stroke. When the public became aware, he murdered his own wife in front of their young children and then took his own life. People who find joy in hurting others really need to get help.

Yes, they do have the artistic license to do what they want with their characters, but just because they have the license to do it, doesn't mean they've done it artistically. South Park, while just as crude as this, does have a certain tact when using violence in humor. When the sadistic kid does cruel things to other people and insult them, the writers have encapsulated this despicable nature into an exaggerated example of this guy you really wouldn't want to be. For every extreme and offensive comment or character trait, there's another one right around the corner to balance it out and make their argument that the world's this crude cess pool of human flaws. Or whatever the topic of the specific episode is.
This episode of Game Dogs lacked the tact required to handle this subject matter with any real purpose. It was just violence and abuse for the Hell of it.

If you found it funny because of an apparent commentary on the general perception of the show and the legal issues, then why did you say, "Yay gratuitous gore and violence"? I can see no purpose other than to try to get a reaction from people.
That just about nails every point I was going to make, I concur completely.

That was awful, it was kinda funny at first but then you kinda pushed it to far. This feels like it should be one of those things where at the end it says April Fools but it didn't. So........ really Im really disappointed in this series now, it was just starting to get good but since two of the 3 of the main and best characters died its over, unless they come back as vampires.

That was . . . bad.

It started off well with the new character and all that, and the dialogue was funny. And, I can see where you were trying to desensitize us and make it seem too over-the-top to be shocking. It kinda worked after a minute of Beth sitting in the back, but that attack was just too shocking and graphic. Not funny.
So, the whole selling knives thing (especially ones called the "Hobo Elimnator") is okay but the minute someone is actually killed thats too far. This show has shocking this season, so if you don't like it, don't watch.
Who mentioned the knives? I didn't. It was meant for comedic effect, and did it very well. This is a comedy, and while gratuitous cartoon gore can be funny when done to a certain degree, they missed it with this episode.

And telling me not to watch it is kind ass-backward. I do like the show, I just didn't like this episode.

OK now this was the first episode when I really laughed out loud several times.
Awsome.
If this show will become unique in a gory kind of way, I'm all for it.
Kinda remainded me of Deathklok.
Awsome!

Also, the amount of butthurt in this thread is most pleasing.

I'm just gonna say that this ep is probably not canon IMO and I don't get the whole "O SHIZ TEH VIOLENCE IT BURNNNNZZZZZZZZ MEH!" thing, it wasn't that bad guys. The lack of purpose was a bit disappointing though and there was no awesome comedy death just a random hit and run within the first 10 seconds. But meh it wasn't that bad assuming that it isn't canon of course, if it is canon then.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

I couldn't stop watching the dangling eye, did anything else happened in the episode?, you know besides the eye thing.
._. Me too. It was like...hypnotizing.

In any case, guys, out of line. It wasn't funny, and it was just disturbing. I actually like Chet, Roger, and Bethany and all these news characters are just annoying to me. I liked Game Dogs when it was still about dogs that, you know, made games. But this Season 2 has turned into something completely different and there hasn't been a single episode I've liked. Especially this one. It's a good thing that I actually browsed the comments before because if I hadn't, and I just dove into the video blindly without knowing at all what was coming, I'd probably feel a little dead inside right from how disturbing the episode was.

I think I was one of the few that actually liked Game Dogs when it was new and just starting, and for Season 2, I've tried to stand by it and hope that the "old" Game Dogs would come back and I'd like it again, but it hasn't been...and this just proved that for sure. You've changed all the characters from before into complete maniacs and the ones that you haven't changed are being killed off in really brutal ways. I just don't like it at all. The Game Dogs before was something unique and sure, maybe it wasn't the best on the Escapist, but it was cute and it had a charm to it. Well, that's gone and replaced by blood and gore and tasteless attempts at "humor."

Sorry, I tried to still like Game Dogs. But I think this is it for me.

This show is so going downhill. I liked it in the first series where they were showing some insight into some game developers' lives, but from the start of the second season this series started to get worse and worse...

Okay, what the fuck did I just spend four minutes watching? And was it supposed to be funny?

Other than that one joke that was funny, I mean.

I liked the direction Season 2 was going in except Bob, but apparently Bob's new direction is the favorite character change of the writers.

There are clues? I didn't think you guys had any deeper meaning then to write characters of a highly criticized show to increase viewership.
