I had a hunter in borderlands that I just started playthrough two with and was almost done with the fyrestone quests when I had a friend come over who wanted to do coop. I started a siren to start a new game with him, after we were done I decided I hated lillith and was gonna go back to mordecai only to find him overwritten by my POS lvl 10 siren.
Havnt played since

I was only moderately dissapointed by the ending of borderlands but Ive had worse, like Fable 2 Lucien: "I am all powerfull!!!" Me: *stab* game over

The last boss on Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is composed out of bullshit. Let's just pit me against some guy and his giant fortress armed with mortar launchers and laser beams, as well as having the ability to spawn any 2 units each turn free of charge. Now lets add all the regular elements of a battle as well. Bullshit. Not doing it.
What level is that? Cuz I'm stuck on the level after you find and defend the shelter.

Borderlands. The ending just made me stop. I was so pissed. Just ugg... almost broke the disk..
Same here. I wasn't angry, though, I just felt so disappointed I couldn't bring myself to do another playthrough or continue with my character. I think that's a first for video games.

I had a reasonably long hiatus from Fallout 3 because I collected all of the bobblebheads except the energy weapons one which I had permanently missed by blowing up Ravenholdt, and then I accidentally deleted one of my main save files... yes. That was rather frustrating.
Ravenholdt?

That section is pretty much about luck. On the first one it was hell, (pun intended) but on the second one I only fell two or three times.
Sure was. I was at it for about 3 hours and had to quit and go back later. Awful horrible game design.

The mortar bit I mean is the one where you have to run down the hill with the friendly fire coming in. It's a mix of trial and error and pure fluke.

I think he meant Raven Rock.

...what shelter? Do you mean that place with the built in farm facilities they find in the beginning? If so, that's pretty early.

Saints row 2. The ronin mission where you bury the bosses kid. You have to race around on motorbikes while cars try to run you off the road.
All the while trying to shoot the kid off his bike. It was also raining when I did it.
I stoped playing that game for a week. Damn motorbikes.
jump in the car to the right and run his ass over, thats what I did.
Well, now I feel really stupid.
You shouldn't: I certainly never thought of that, either.

Sure some games get you angry, or just all around irritating, but have any games just all out made you stop playing them or put them down for a long while because of a fury that burned through to the heavens?

Right now..oh, I love Resident Evil 5...but now it has me so infuriated that I'm probably going to be putting it down for a long while. Amatuer..fine, Normal..sure, Veteran..ok too...but now I'm stuck at one part and see no way of getting by it....the frigging Ndesu fight on Veteran...I know how to do it..and i have gotten near the end of it a few times, but it ridiculous...his attacks to too much damage, they added in an annoying molotov thrower spawn, and his boulder attacks is near unstoppable..and it takes off half your health!!..I went into it with 3 deaths against him from other modes..now its at 55..and I see no end in sight..
[sub]So I'm going back to Devil May Cry 4...at least the difficulty on there is fair..[/sub]
I'm not particularly looking forward to Ndesu on Professional mode (Chapter 2-3 is, in fact, next up on that difficulty--though I suppose I COULD skip over it...). It'd be one thing if you were just fighting Ndesu: the respawning Majini complicate things.

For me, I suppose inFAMOUS is the most recent sort-of example. I haven't gotten out-and-out stuck at any point in the story (though I was stuck for an afternoon on one side-mission), but almost from the start there's been an overarching sense of dislike, and every death grates, and every platforming difficulty makes me want to go play Prototype instead. I'm having real difficulty working my way through: I'm having to do it in smaller, farther-apart sessions to avoid building frustration levels to toxic points.

The most recent true example is The Force Unleashed, where I just lacked the patience to deal with the Sarlacc section when I first reached it (might get to it late this summer).

The Madden series is the best example, though. I'm never touching any of that series ever again, period. When you're winning games in blow-outs and are still breaking controllers in frustration, it's clearly time to stop.

Beating Seth was already mentioned. I'll go one further. Unlocking Akuma and Gouken. Can't lose a single round, must have at least two perfects, and two ultra combo finishes. And you fight Seth. Arrrrrrrgh. I said, over and over around that point in time, that they really should have just made everyone available from the start, with the exception of maybe Seth himself.

Then Super Street Fighter IV gets announced, with all the characters unlocked from the get-go. Arrrrrrrrrgh.

(As an aside, my really old chair finally gave in on me the instant I beat Seth on Medium Hard for the first time. On Very Easy, all I would do is hold right and HK. Wasn't due to rage, but it makes for a good story.)

EDIT: Fuck Ndesu.

I know at least 4 people that rage quit Final Fantasy XIII at roughly the same place, though I can't really remember where. I remember when I was playing through Warrior Within, and I managed to screw myself over and somehow locked myself out of this chamber that I needed to access in order to progress. I rage quit, went back to it maybe 2 years later, and promptly did the exact same thing over again. I'm still yet to go back to it.

Yeah, but it doesn't matter anyway. We don't go to Ravenholdt. Or Ravenholm. Or Raven's Rock. Basically, anything Ravens is a no-go.

Playing through Library level in Halo: CE on Legendary. That shit gives me nightmares.
Ditto x.x;;

EDIT: Being stuck at the last set of Guitar hero 3 after playing through the career for the first time, it took me a good few months to finally beat Raining blood, and then they throw The devil went down to georgia at you, and it results in more practise and frustration..
