game endings you loved that everyone else hated

Spoiler: Red Dead Redemption

You return home after working with the government to hunt down your old gang. They come back to finish you off. You send your family away while you make your last stand AND... You die. As much as I did dislike the death, I do like the ending. It reminded my a lot of the ending of Gran Torino (Which ended in Eastwood's character tricking the local gang into opening fire on him in front of the police, so the end result is the same: His friends and family are safe at the cost of his life)

what we got did not work on any level.....I think its best I don't drag myself into this argument again though.

an example being this, it works because it fits in with red deads tone and overall themes, its brutal but its a conclusive ending

and yeah, thats everyones point...its not because it was too sad (although thats naother issue) its because it just sucked

Condemned. If you refuse to shoot SKX in the face as he's tied up in the trunk of the car you're rescued by, and stick to the principles of justice and law that any good police officer should stick to, he pulls out a gun from nowhere and caps himself. Didn't see that coming, but I really liked it.
