My girlfriend and I play Left 4 Dead together, though I'd recommend a co-op game that isn't quite as hardcore. If you have a PS2, go get We Love Katamari.

As regards PC games, I suggest The Sims, as many others have. You might also look into stuff like Final Fantasy VIII (not least for the fact that you pretty much have to make an effort to lose).

Its not a fair trade the game cant make tea .... erm I mean

The Sims 3
Point & Click adventures (theres hundreds)

This list is of course based on the fact your dating a MILF. Any semi decent game that isnt twitch based. You would be best if shes a beginner (She been under a rock for 30 years ?) asking her what she wants, if shes no idea or doesnt care dont :D

I can recommend the NDS as a good starting point though its very mainstream & stuff like peggle & Proffessor laytons will last months.
Peggle's on the DS??? Well, there goes my social life...

As someone said, PopCap games are a good choice, Peggle being the best one.
The Sims is a really love/really hate chance, I'd take Sims 2 to save money and if she gets addicted then Sims 3.
Portal is nice but I don't think is a for total beginners, but it sure is the best FPS for girls.
Music games are great, Guitar Hero is a good choice (but mind that the PC version sucks, at least GH3's). You can also get Ultrastar for free, is a PC version of Singstar that you can import Singstar's songs into.
Fable may be a good introduction to action RPGs too, you can get the first one really cheap.

Portal has tons of replayability for someone new to FPS, doing puzzles faster and more accuartley is always fun. It has an easy learning curve as well.

Plants vs Zombies is good as well, set up a steam account for her and download the demo.

It really is up to her personal prefferences. Take a look at which facebook games she plays and try to find something along those lines but better.

How can I ever recommend something with barely any knowledge about her? Girls are individuals too you know, everyone had different tastes. And in the case of your girlfriend, I have no idea what her tastes are, thus I can't really recommend any games. Don't ask us, ask her what kind of game would appeal to her. She knows best, obviously. We could help you with the details, if you know her general preferences.

Started one off on Mario, Bomberman didn't work as much. It dont think it was played when I wasn't there but just whilst I was to make it look like she was interested. I had loads of enthusiasm and I think she just went "ooo lovely" basicly.

+ Facebook apps are not games.

Little Wheel [http://fastgames.com/littlewheel.html]. It's simple, perfectly easy to understand and has very good visuals, albeit short.

You know what she likes but you want to buy her something different? Just because you find it boring doesn't mean she will.
Bingo. Don't force games on her that she won't want to play. Just buy games you know she'll like, and if she actually wants to play something else, you can always get something different for her. I want to buy The Sims 3 personally and my girlfriend really wants to play it too. Thats next on my list of games to get for her...and me =P
That's so true. Really, don't get games that YOU like for your girlfriend. That's a pointless and selfish exercise. If you think she'll like Sim's, get that for her. Remember, a relationship isn't just about YOU.

That aside, I'd recommend trying Spore on her. If not, save the money, get out and do something nice together. Buy 10 movie tickets or something, 5 movies you like and 5 she likes (Or if you're feeling particularly nice, 7 movies she likes and 3 for you)
Well the idea is if she hates it and doesn't play it I can play it. I think I might get her The Sims 2 (which I wont play) but is super cheap nowadays im sure.

Jade Empire looks appealing (for me), if she likes RPGs i can hook her up with a lot of my old and extremely user friendly(read: easy) ones.

Lots of suggestions for FPS games... I said no FPSs haha, Portal is not a bad idea, I own it already and can just let her use my steam, Jade Empire can be implemented the same way.

great suggestions so far guys! So far I think ill get here the Sims 2 to see how she likes it, and we can both play Jade Empire on my Steam Account. Any thoughts?

Audiosurf. It's cheap, low-res, casual, and fun. Really a good game for all gamers, if you have a large enough iTunes folder.

Get her Morrowind, and show her the console command, "togglegodmode."
You won't see her for the next few weeks, though...

Darwinia :)
It's pretty cheap, on steam, and it's impossible for someone to not like it.

My friend's girlfriend was really good at RPGs like Fallout and Oblivion, but really. Unless it's something she enjoys, go to the movies or something.
