I would like to see a new Gauntlet refresh the series, much the same as Street Fighter IV refreshed its'.

I would like to see a new Contra as well, back to its 2-D roots in a way.

Seeing a new Actraiser would make my day. Those are my 3 for now...how do they stack up to your rules?
Gauntlet had one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUOGr4qUa8A

Contra had one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O-u06cmmAg

Actraiser would be beautiful though... gotta bring back the light RTS element too: It's what really set the game apart.
Heh, I was talking about another relaunch...one that was actually successful.

DDO? Dungeons and Dragons Online perhaps?

Also, if I may ask, what about "DDO" has gotten stale, or is in need of improvement? On one hand I understand the game could probably use a large ad campaign to introduce more players to the world, but on the other, it seems like plenty is being done to keep the game updated and fresh?
1st yes I did mean dungeons and dragons online by DDO. As for what has become stale I would say almost the whole end game currently. For those that have played for an extended period the content is coming at a very slow pace due to a fairly low game population. A good well marketed relaunch of this game would vastly improve the playerbase and enable Turbine to put the needed resources into the game to release content as they were 2 years ago.

Killer Instinct, but I don't want Rare to do it. Today's Rare is a joke of a developer.

To put it bluntly, today's Rare is more like the bastard love child with mental problems of the genious that was the Rare that gave us so many great games in the 90's.

Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver
Oddworld
Earthworm Jim
Blackthorne

But I'm more in favor of making brand new and innovative games.

Hunter the Reckoning
KOTOR
Metal Arms (although it wasn't a series but it could have been one, for the record)

X-Com. Who needs RTS games when you have X-Com?
Noone.

A real Shadowrun RPG the way it was meant to be. Maybe by Bioware or Bethesda. Both of them could do a killer job with it.
Damn. Both the answers I had. Why oh why must I read the whole thread before I post?

Okay, how about a return to the halcyon Gold Box D&D days? Sure, we can have in-game text or voice actors instead of printed journal entries now, but one solid engine with many solid games written around it.

I think I saw and replied in this thread doppelganger yesterday. Shadowrun hands down. Not the MS pos that came out as a half cocked FPS. A real Shadowrun RPG the way it was meant to be. Maybe by Bioware or Bethesda. Both of them could do a killer job with it.
Is it wrong of me to have really enjoyed the SNES version? For the developer + platform, I was really surprised at the quality and depth of the title.

How about Mechwarrior. I haven't seen a mech game come from the West in this console generation but then again I have not bought a console in six years.
