Im a huge fan of rockstar games and I think red dead redemption is one of their best games ever (probably second to GTA V). I know its the typical freeroam format of GTA but the western theme was a bit unexpected and turned out to be better than most GTAs

I would personally love to see rockstar pull off a pirate theme in their typical freeroam style. If they paid the same attention to detail as they did with RDR I think it would be really good. Similar to the way you hired people for heists in GTA V you could hire new crew members and upgrade your ship inorder to take on harder "quests" and get more loot.

Id also like to see Dice do a multiplayer medieval combat game. Kinda like battlefield but in a medieval fantasy locale with dragons instead of jets, castles instead of bases etc.

Are there any genres/styles or locales youd like a certain developer to explore that you wouldnt expect from them?

Well, I wouldn't expect it simply because they're rolling in the money from their MMO, but I'd like to see a single-player World of Warcraft experience from Blizzard. Same massive world, same massive amount of quests and areas and dungeons and end-game, but make it a solo party-driven RPG instead of an MMO. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Warcraft IV would be pretty cool too.

I think I'd like to see Bungie tackle a space sim. Something Freelancer-esque, but with actual traversable land areas as well.

I'd like to see Square/Enix do an adventure game a la Sam and Max and The Walking Dead. The visuals they could bring to the table would be insane, though they'd need a better translator than the people who localized FFT. :p

Konami doing a fighting game. They had one back in the PSOne era called Kensei: Sacred Fist which I thought was pretty cool...it was on the line of Dead Or Alive but with less jiggle physics...and one of the characters was Steven Segal clone. Can't get more cooler than that. Always thought they could have made a sequel on PS2 or 3 but it's gone into the ether now.

I'd love to see naughty Dog create an RTS game for the PS4, I'd love to make use of what the PS4/Vita controls could do, I'm also tried of just using a M+B for my RTSa dn wish for there to be more console RTS titles anyway.

I want to see Platinum Games do a game that's not Bayonetta.

I LOVE Platinum games, I LOVE Bayonetta, Wonderful 101 and Metal Gear Rising; but I'm not about to pretend that they're not similar. I'd like to see them branch out, is what I'm saying.

Well, there's Vanquish.

Or if you want to go back to when they were Clover, Viewtiful Joe, God Hand or Okami.

I mean, I'd make the argument that Wonderful 101 is closer to Viewtiful Joe than Bayonetta. Though I do take your point, since all of those games do bear many similarities. EDIT: The most 'different' probably being Okami and Vanquish.

They did also help with a Nintendo DS RPG called Infinite Space, though I'll admit I don't know how much input they actually had on that.

When I would really like to see is Rockstar trying out different GTAeque games based in different settings and/or time-periods. For ages I wanted a piratey GTA, though now that Black Flag is out (and apparently very good) so we maybe don't have the need for another one in the next few years. I'd like to see them do something futuristic, ninjas/samurais or maybe ancient Rome or Tolkenesque fantasy, but keep the adult themes and sandbox style.

Other than that:

I'd like to see Rocksteady (Arkham Asylum) do a James Bond game. (Seems they good at matching game play elements with a characters abilities)
I'd like to see Codemasters develop an F-Zero/Wipeout futuristic racer.
I'd like the Soul Calibur people to develop a one-on-one fighter with Jedi's (not sure why this didn't happen after Soul Calibur IV had Yoda and Vader)
I'd like Bioware to develop a roleplaying game set in the Gears of War world (they may as well as Mass Effect gets more and more gearsy with each iteration)
I'd like Slightly Mad Studios (Need for Speed Shift) to develop a new Wave Race (doing the whole shaking head-cam thing would be particularly vomit inducing (in a fantastic way) in a storm at sea)

How do you think an RPG (or indeed an ARPG) made by Platinum would turn out? I'm just curious as to what might happen now that they're under the umbrella of Nintendo and don't have to worry about their games not being picked up, at least for a little while, depending on how Bayonetta 2 sells (seeing as w101 didn't do too well, and that's a crime, because it's ACE).

There's another part of me that says that I'd rather they stick to little adjustments to what they're used to than, I 'unno, make a puzzle game.

Isn't Kojima working on a Silent Hill game, or it's in the pipes or something?

Anyway, if true, bring that shit!

An ARPG wouldn't be too far off from what they've been making. Hell, we're due for another one that has amazing, fast, fun, but crushingly difficult combat. The likes of Dark Souls and The Witcher 2 fill one niche, but on the other end with fast-paced combat we've only really got Kingdoms Of Amalur, and that game becomes very easy very quickly. Unless you factor in things like the Tales of franchise, I suppose, which again might not be a far change from what Platinum has already done in the past.

I don't know how well I'd see them do with something more akin to Dragon Age or Final Fantasy, but I'd be interested in an action-RPG by them.

Instead of making Halo 5, I want 343 Studios to make a space-combat sim. My all-time favorite things about Reach and 4 were those brief segments wherein you were in a ship, in space and, dog-fighting other ships up to the larger ships which you attack and destroy...or board...can't remember clearly...Failing that, I still want my Halo game centered around vehicular combat. Nothing but vehicles because like with the example above, my favorite parts of Halo in general were those times when I was given a tank or, warthog and a large open space in which to wreck up the shit.

This one probably doesn't count but I want Final Fantasy XV to play just like Kingdom Hearts. It looks like it's going in that direction already but if it turns out to be more of like what was in XIII or, XII than I'm going to be extremely disappointed.

Id say next gen tablets are gonna be the next big RTS platform. The only reason I have games on my PC is for RTS/tycoon games because a gamepad just doesnt work. If there was a decent touchscreen control then RTS would be so much more dynamic. Id like to say kinect/PS eye (being a PS guy I think kinect is a better system) would be good for RTS but in practice a touch screen pad (ala PS4/vita) would be ideal

i've played Red Alert 3 on PS3,360 and PC and had no problems using a controller, I know I can't be the only one and while I own a nexus 7, many here aren't remotely fond of tablets along with hate for Kinect and PS eye so that means we're just locked down to K+M.

The good thing about the "GTA" format is that it can be applied to any time period/setting and it would work. You want medieval/tolkeneseque GTA? Just imagine skyrim but not as RPG heavy and with rockstars sense off humour. GTA victorian london would basically be dishonoured but less linear and less supernatural (I know that ones a long shot but you see what I mean). The forumula provided its developed by rockstar just works. Games that rip-off GTA e.g saints row are a lot like a fake rolex you buy from the market. Its a great novelty but its no match for the real thing

I just love the idea of GTA V style heists but in a pirate setting. Travelling around searching in various taverns for new crew members and new ship upgrades

I used to love Age of empires 2 on PC but trying to play it on PS2 was a joke. K+M is definitely the best way to play RTS (I know im gonna get a lot of flak on here for saying this) but K+M is probably the most boring format for playing games on ever. I know K+M is superior for FPS (theres no way a game pad can match mouse speeds) but I still prefer a game pad because K+M just seems (and I cant explain why) a much more boring way to play.

Introducing touchscreen and/or motion control to an RTS means you can move troops around fluidly without a cumbersome gamepad and you also have a much more fun and interactive medium to play it on. Ill admit most genres including FPS and racing (which you need some sort of feedback) are dreadful on tablet/motion control but I think RTS is one genre that could catch on. Who doesnt want to be a badass space general with one of those sci-fi minority report computers

I'm shit at most FPS's that use a mouse which is why I prefer the gamepad, I'm good at RTS games with a M+K along with the gamepad (yes to some I know the K+M can be good for RTS primarily.

M+K to me can be okay for some games but there are times where my gameplay can feel like I'm inside a tank and I'd end up switching to gamepad to feel a bit more freedom.

If there's an FPS that has next to no gamepad support and I suck at it on mouse, there's a high chance I'd stop playing that game altogether and move onto another game that does support the gamepad.

That would be...AMAZING.

As long as he doesn't go pants-on-head-retarded with the story, I'm fine. For instance Metal Gear Solid is quite literally insane outside of certain parts of 1&3.

A new ZOE from Kojima is something I wouldn't expect. Gimme that too.

If you're thinking about the controller, one might suggest you are perhaps playing games that aren't very interesting.
