HAHA I JUST THOUGHT OF THE BEST ONE EVER. You play as a newly built road. Your objective is simple...just watch cars ride over you.

A a game in which you play as Yahtzee, firing good games (Portal, Silent Hill 2) out of a cannon at invading forces of crap (Turok, Jericho)
Seriously though, how about a game in which you are the sole survivor of a shipwreck, and you have to survive and try to be rescued.
Or an online game in which one player has an overview of a zombie-infested city, and he has to guide a group of player-controlled survivors to safety.
Anyone remember the obscure PC RTS ParaWorld? That would have been an awesome FPS.
Or a zombie survival horror in which the zombies are slow-moving and can only be killed by headshots, and your friends can be killed off at any time, altering the story.

It's not really insane but, A vast, I mean huge, multiplayer game like battlefield 2, but with more advanced RTS elements, battles in space and on the planet surface. You start out on the ship and the host is like the commander/captain whatever(or a separate ground commander, and a space admiral), He has robots/unmanned vehicles, build bases and shit on the planet or do recon. Players start on the carrier and descend to the surface of the planet in dropships and capture areas on which the commander can build bases that allow players to spawn and he can spawn vehicles for them. The space fleets battle eachother for control of orbit, and have a limited number of ships. There that's my idea, I've had it for quite some time now.
Vermin RTS!!
An RTS game in which you control and army of pests, vermin and rodents and guide them though dinners, restaurants and the like. Such problems will arise as all your cockroaches scattering whenever the lights art turned on, being spotted by kitchen staff ect.
You'll control a variety of troops, like huge tank like rats, speedy air born flys and disorderly but hard to kill cockroaches. The aim of the game is to infect a the kichen, get your different pests into the food, and close the place down.

I've always wanted to see a traditional fantasy RPG where you roleplay a peasant. With a carrot farming mini-game.
Just an idea as that seems to most obvious role to play in these worlds.

The Perfect game :
It takes place in a kind of science facility. And you're the only one there. You are a test subject who is set free to test a new prototype "Portal Gun" (sounds far fetched I know but bear with me). You are guided only by this strange voice of some AI who throws in occasional dark humor during the game and also hints about killing you at the end of the test and having cake. Once you reach the end of the testing you find out you are about to die and that the Cake is a Lie (ooh that's a good line for the game, need to remember that one). Then you find a means to escape using the test gun and eventually make your way to the AI and destroy it. The game ends on a funny note with a song about the AI still being alive.
THAT is a great scenario for a game. If someone makes this game I will buy it! Even better, if they make it and throw it in a oddly colored box along with about 4 other games and sell it for only about $40-$50, I'll want to buy it even more! Hell if they do that, ign may call it the best deal in gaming history!

I've actually just had a fantastic idea for a Wii game, absolutely perfect for the Wiimote.

Think about it, a proper jousting sim. Customizable armor, expandable stable, upgradable weaponry, but most importantly; speeding towards your opponent in 1st person, hooves thundering, the crowd roaring, as you try to lodge your lance into Sir iwpnn00bs's sternum. Single player story mode would be compelling (just rip off A Knight's Tale), online play would be fantastic.
Any developers reading, you know this needs to be made.

A game where you got moderate people... it slowly starts you off as being the referee in baseball game, then jumps to being a judge in a civil court case for a divorcing couple, then jumps to you moderatoring a message board, then jumps to you being the Emissary sent from a neutral country to two warring nations like Palestinians and the Jews and your goal is to bring peace by getting the two groups to to talk out their differences...
