Not nessisarily. I just managed to bag a copy on play.com. GAME and Gamestation *also sufferign this problem* have a link to a EA page that gives a list of websites still selling. http://www.ea.com/uk/1/mass-effect-3-update-1

Thats the page in general. However, if you're after a collectors edition, avoid amazon. Amazon is only stocking the regular version atm.

Well... Time to get my vouchers spent then! Lucky my ME3 preorder was free, though this does answer why so much of my local GAME's shelves has been taken over by preowned crap. Only one shelf is dedicated to new releases.

Hope they haven't pulled Catherine off the shelves as of yet. That would suck.

I feel like a rat jumping the sinking ship with a cart of discounted games... /sadface

Now, to Amazon!

Despite my opinion of GAME, which I've voiced on a couple of other threads on the subject, it's still not fun to watch this car-crash of a collapse unfold before our eyes.

Next it'll be every reward card holder panicking and going to use up ALL their reward point. That's stock going out the front door with painful (for GAME) amounts discounted. And that's just for the people who haven't built up enough points to get one or more games completely on redeemed points.

Then the whole house of cards will come tumbling down. I genuinely feel sorry for the poor sods who are now worried sick about their immediate future v/v employment.

This is great news for me :D

ShopTo.net weren't stocking the CE of ME3, but I woke up this morning to find that they now are.

Cancelled my normal preorder and got myself a CE.

Good times all around. Well, unless you work for GAME

Well, no love for game but gamestation was one of my main places to getter older games since online, MOST of the time it is overpriced. If they do go i will miss my fun for a fiver :(

I wonder if gamefest had anything to do with it. I bet that stuff was expensive.

I can't deny that I'm feeling incredibly annoyed at this, especially since I'd pre-ordered the Collector's Edition last year and now I can't find one for the 360 anywhere...

These guys [http://www.shopto.net/] are still stocking the game.

They just got them in today. Looks like EA are redirecting all their stock.

They only seem to have the PS3 and PC Collector's Editions, and I'm after the 360 version since that was what I had orignally pre-ordered. Thanks for the link anyway though.

Dear *****,

Thank you for preordering Mass Effect 3 from GAME.co.uk

We're contacting you with news that, unfortunately we are not in a position to supply you with your copy of Mass Effect 3. As dedicated gamers, we know how disappointing this will be for you, and we apologise sincerely for the inconvenience that this will cause.

Your order ********** will be cancelled and no money will be taken from your account for this item.

We value you as a customer very highly and want to demonstrate that to you by giving you a voucher code worth £5 off your next purchase at GAME.co.uk*

Is the e-mail I just recieved from them. It seems that GAME really are struggling at the minute :/

Looks like I will have to pre-order from elsewhere for the time being...
I've just had the exact same email - now I need to find somewhere else that is still taking pre-orders for ME3 Collectors Edition

Wardy
I had the same problem. Play has CE for PC and PS3, but not Xbox.
Fortunately, Amazon has it. Quick panic over.

They must have sold out of those really quick :D

I only preordered mine a few hours ago.

well that sucks for you UK guys

I wish Gamestop here in America had some kind of competition instead of being a monopoly maybe we could get some better deals and customer service
Not really :D

Most gamers know the industry, and know that GAME overcharge like you wouldn't believe.

The savvy gamers shop elsewhere.

Well arse. I bought Soul Calibur 5 from Gamestation because they were doing 35 quid trade-in within two weeks. I wanted to use that trade value for ME3. Now what? That was pretty much the only thing on my wants list for the forseeable future.

Joy.

They can't get credit for new stock and have let down too many customers. I'm not personally affected, but in-store credit is not satisfactory when people want a specific game - many gamers had saved up just to buy Mass Effect 3! It's the same as taking your money and running with it. Unacceptable.

EDIT: Seems that they are giving out proper refunds after all.

Just ordered a CE from Amazon after mine was cancelled. It's really weird to think I'll be able to walk into a GAME store and lots of huge games will be missing. That is, for as long as there are GAME stores to way into at all...

Well no, because they haven't taken your money...

Anyway, now all you people who ordered the CE can join the rest of us complaining about the Day One DLC being another tenner! Won't that be fun?!

How did you manage that considering it hasn't been on there for months?! Enquiring minds want to know!

Good, fuck Game. Glad I ordered it from Amazon.
I take it your experiences with Game have been less than good?

Does anyone know if this just effects the UK or is it all over? The article I read on BBC said it was only Games based in the UK but I am not entirely sure.

Wonder how much they were paying to stock new games. If it's anything like Gamestop, the profit they make on new sales would be in the low-single digits. Shame to see them go down because Publishers wouldn't simply offer them a better deal. Especially since GAME offered to share the profits from used sales if the publishers would offer a better deal on new games.

If they aren't giving people what they paid for and proceed to "refund" them with store credits, that is not satisfactory in my eyes. Honour your custom or give the money back.
