Game of the Year That Didn't Come Out This Year

Red Faction. I got the first two games this year and the first one is definitely my favorite. The second one was good, but the story wasn't that great in comparison.

I got Dragon Age, Fallout: New Vegas, and the entire Mass Effect series this year. If New Year was in another week, I'd have finished Planescape, too. So it's a little hard to pick one.

Dark Souls again for me, I got it the day it came out and I still constantly play it.

Arkham City. Only lasted me a few days, but was a ton of fun. Skyrim in terms of hours spent. Portal 2 can have third place.

You had to have played the game this year(assuming that means full game, no demos), so no you cannot.

In that case, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Amazing game.

Two generic enemies could take you out in a couple of seconds, even on the easiest difficulty.

Zelda Skyward Sword.
I played that at the start of the Year, magnificent game!

I'm in the same camp here. The swordplay, though sometimes glitchy, is pretty fun. There's a good variety of stuff to do, and some of the new enemy designs are pretty interesting (Bokoblins are designed to look like Japanese Oni Demons for example). The CD that came with it is also superb.

Played To The Moon this year and by god I was just stunned by the perfectness of the storytelling. The way it all comes together in the end and you never expect it really is sad. One part literally brought me from a happy smile to a sad tear in the span of 10 seconds.

OT: Another for Dark Souls. That game is fantastic. It's the only game that's ever questioned Majora's Mask's place as my favourite game of all time.

The CD is really great

And I love the two new badguys.
Gihraim is just Perfect and the Evil God is a good choice as a "first" enemy in the Zelda timeline.

I got Disgaea 4 as an early christmas present and have been playing that and enjoying every minute of it, so my vote would be for that.
