Mass Effect was the game I enjoyed most... that was this year, right?
Two years late, sir.
Mine would be.... Well, I did not play anything released this year. Maybe Prototye and Modern Warfare 2 (when it comes out).

I don't know... Red Faction, probably, although it's a little short and the Guerrilla Actions are annoying as hell. There's most definitely better to come this year, though.
Gonna go with Red Faction too. I enjoyed the guerrilla actions, especially the giant robot destruction darbies.

That last mission was bastard hard but so satisfying to beat.

Smashing shit up in that game just never gets old!
I think most of the fun I've had with that game has come in Wrecking Crew mode. Get a few friends round, with a few beers and it becomes the Best Thing Ever. It really shows how much fun smashing stuff up can be, when that's literally all you do in WC and it still remains amazing fun.

Tough call then. If Fallout 3 was this year, then yeah, if not... I don't know.

I gotta' go with Red Faction. Love the universe, love the gameplay(a game mode where the whole purpose is to cause as much damage to buildings as possible? What's not to love!), and love the whole idea behind it.

And really, why doesn't every modern game have some form of GeoMod? I mean, if I shoot the Spartan laser at a building wall it should explode and make a new door.

That's what i wanted to say, but that was last Holiday Season. Same with Gears of War 2. Same dilemma, my friend.

Demon's Souls, my god it's addictive!
Thats out?
Well in Asia, so I cheated and imported a copy before it was released.
Damn, got me all excited
Well if you're impatient about waiting(like me) you can just import a copy from hong kong for only about 5$ more than you'd usualy pay and it's all in english(except the game manual and back cover).

Fallout 3 would be a simple answer, but it came out last year.

From what I've played that has come out this year:
> Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires - It's good, but not quite capable of GotY caliber, with battles becoming very similar to each other after completing 1 campaign.
> UFC Undisputed - Incredibly fun, highly addictive, but once again, lifetime is very short, a single career play through is more than enough for most people.
> Killzone 2 - Good story mode, sub-par multi-player, Radick(?) Academy is a *****! Looks pretty, but definitely not GotY quality.
> Savage Moon - little known PSN game, good fun, but very repetitive, short life time.
> Empire: Total War - Riddled with bugs from the get go, that really hurts this game in my opinion, they are fixed now, but for the life of me I hardly know anyone that still plays it.

I haven't played that many games released this year, so it's very difficult for me to say what I think should be, that being said I'd root for UFC Undisputed, it's the only one that nearly made me miss work.
