Er... no he doesn't. He comes close to it though. But he's still kicking.

The biggest problem with Book 5 is that it leaves A LOT open to the wind.
Fake spoiler countered with an actual spoiler. Well played!
A very vague one at that.

i run through life with the assumption all things end with 'everyone dies', like all good chinese movies... nothing can be truly spoiled that way :3

that said, i laughed so hard at this comic, haven't read the books, watched the show, but dear lord the amount of information i can get from tertiary sources just wondering the net... still... giggling :3

Well, having a character in a life-threatening situation kind of loses its impact if you already know he's not going to die. Saying that a character won't die is as much of a spoiler as saying that a character will die.

HOW THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN APPROACHED:

USER1: "So wait, is that spoiler real?! D:"

USER2WHO'SREADTHEBOOKS: "Maybe! No."

And yet this very simple and thoughtful approach to explaining away potentially fake spoilers is never followed. ;___;

It's still a spoiler SO PUT IT IN A DAMNED SPOILER TAG.

Don't make me go all Souplex on you and send you very disappointed PMs.

Tyrion is well enough alive, though he does get shit on quite a bit along the way. What IS annoying is that Martin developed a nasty habit of "killing" key characters - basically, they are about to die, then the chapter ends and it's the last chapter about that particular character. And it's infuriating! People who have read the books know what I'm talking about, like a certain hanging that happened at the end of Book 4, and there's been no word about that person since then. And this is one of the things show watchers will never have to deal with, at least to this extent, as the show creators seem quite willing to reshuffle events a bit so none of the characters are out of it for too long...
On the other hand, nobody died in their POV chapter so far. Well, apart from a certain lady with a heart of stone, but she gets off on a technicality later on. But there is always book 6 to prove me wrong, so For the Watch! Heh. :)

OT: Everyone I talk to about GoT has read the books so I don't get this in my conversations about the series. Mind you, I haven't watched the show all that much...

I really need to get that marathon started.
It's a pain in the arse in college.
There's a group of six of us who are into it and two are just watching the tv show, two of us are finished the books and up-to-date on the show and two have only read some of the books but have watched all of the tv show.

It gets very confusing when you're trying to remember what you can and can't say to people.

Accidental spoilers abound!

Awesome... Really nice move with the spoiler.. Thanks a bunch!

PS: The spoiler being fake or not does not matter since now I know he doesn't die.. I mean sorry but how dumb is a mistake like that?

Oh, I know that. This year at university I've been running away from GoT conversations like crazy.

"I'm too busy writing essays to watch that yet!"

Except he's still got 2 books to go... that we know of.

So its more like "he doesn't die YET". For all any of us know, he might die later.

Except you gave him total immortality until the end of book 5.

Now quit justifying and start applying spoiler tags.

Seriously, go back through your posts and apply spoiler tags. It's the only decent thing to do.

And before you say "But the comic!":

Between the comic and the cheeky OP, it's pretty clear that Moll may or may not be lying.

You, on the other hand, are clearly not.

I'm one of those that don't mind being spoiled, at all. Mostly because I have a very selective memory, and can easily forget them.
Which makes my friends pretty mad since they can't get revenge when I do spoil them.

I don't care about the tv series I just hope Martin will manage to finish the story before he dies because otherwise we are pretty much f...ed.
Just imagine the sheer amount of fanfiction GRRM dying would spawn. Not to mention someone else would probably be hired to do the last book(s) because money.

That's the thing, Martin stated explicitly that his death is the end of a song of ice and fire and he is also very strict as far as fan fiction is concerned hence you know if he goes away we will never get the ending. I'm sure he already gave some guidelines for hbo producers just in case, but books are a different story.

The producers of the show know how the books would end, so if it ever comes to that, we'll get to know how it ends, just not from the books.

What's-her-friend is the one who read the books. Red Wedding strip has her taking the seat with that grin, and she hit the deviation quota already on first episode of season 4.
