Title says it all. Of all the lands, roles and lives shown in the Song of Ice and Fire series (either depicted in the books or TV show), which would you want to have or be a part of? Would you want to dwell in the North perhaps? Or maybe beyond the wall? Sail on the seas around the Iron Islands, or farm in the Reach? Would you ride with the Dothraki in the sea of grass, or perhaps act as some merchant in the Free Cities? Or maybe, just maybe, you'd actually throw your hat into the ring and vie for the world's most uncomfortable chair?

If you were a part of this world, who would you wish to be?

LIttlefinger, just so I can keep the whole conflict that sparks the book from happening in the first place.

I wouldn't want to be Lord of anything - might as well paint a target on my forehead.

The North is sandwiched between The Wall (and all the wildlings it holds) along with everything in the south. I might once have considered it fairly safe given it's location and size but look at what happened to Winterfell...

The Riverlands are a nice enough setting but it became an absolute war-zone, caught between the Starks & Lannisters. It just isn't wise to set up shop there.

Anywhere around King's Landing likely isn't a good idea, for all the sh*t that happens around it. Not Casterly Rock - the Lannisters are corrupt as hell.

Highgarden might be nice... big enough to not be swept away by any foe in particular and they seem relatively sane. Same with Dorne, but the desert doesn't appeal to me.

I'd never choose the Iron Islands and likely not Dragonstone. Also wouldn't choose to hang out with the Dothraki or anyone in their vicinity either.

All things considered, I'd opt to be a merchant in Braavos. Less-dangerous line of work, in a relatively safe location. All I need to do is not piss off anyone enough to have a Faceless Man sent after me.

What even is Varys' job? 'cos I'd definitely have that shit. Avoid the wars but still get to fuck around with everybody's business because of the employment of eight million spies (well, little birds).

Maester, I'm a scientist, healer, historian all in one and get to a wear fancy bling. Plus I'm technically politically neutral so I probably won't be killed and can just read Westeros tales while the world burns/freezes around me

Politically neutral, but that may not be how whoever takes over your land sees it. Even if they did, would it not make you feel ill to grow close to your lords household if they were to be slaughtered? You'd have no choice but to serve their killers just as faithfully.

Also, that chain around their necks never comes off! Of all the inconvenient laws of Westeros, that one must be the most annoying.

He already does that. Oh snap! xD

OT: I'd probably like being a Faceless Man. Of everything in the Game of Thrones-verse, they are the most interesting bit to me. Everything else is just typical fantasy/midevil stuff, which is fairly old and cliche.

I'll go with Eddard Stark. I'd be just as noble, but I'd make one slight change... I wouldn't be a complete moron. Hurrah! The day is saved, and GoT is turned into a generic fantasy novel series as a result!

I would be the blood of the North when it all goes down...

Or a freelance blacksmith... More than likely the latter, I guess...

I have no idea what dummerjons means, but I am going to say it translates to "Dashingly handsome, intellectually fabulous person". And therefore. *bows* Thank you for the compliment. xD

Owning a sell-sword company and with that being in employ of the Iron Bank.

Not that it's written anywhere but I reckon there's got to be some retributive power they've sneakily got laying around that enables them to be a Bank in such a difficult world.

We'll fight anywhere where attrition won't be the death of us (so no Dorne or North of the Wall and we'll stick to Essos come winter).

I would be Renly. I would accept Stannis's offer to become his heir and let him have the throne and watch as it rapidly ages him while I go back to Storm's End and ignore him.

I'd be a slave owner specializing in gladiators with hopes of making it big in the fighting pits.

Why? Because:

a) Other people are doing my bloody work for me, I just sit there and watch people fight each other.

b) It's pretty much a legal occupation so doesn't have any stigma attached in the setting, I'm not considered a dousche or a bad person or anything, just a private businessman making his way in the world. and my business is entertaining the masses.

c) It's a safe job where I'm unlikely to make enemies, my business is entertaining people after all. Biggest risks comes from my slaves rebelling against me but so long as I treat them ok by the setting standards (aka feed and house them decently, don't pointlessly torture and kill them outside of their death fights) I'll be considered a saint of slavers.

d) I get to travel a bit, stay on the move and keep myself free of the intrigues of local lords.
Tbh this is the deciding reason I went for slave owner over brothel owner, which was a close 2nd. I quite liked Littlefinger's operation but it seems having a brothel can be very stressful and your locale becomes a hotbed of local intrigue and subterfuge wherever you like it or not and I'd rather not deal with all that.
