Unfortunately, no. I tend to play by myself (no, not that way...), so I don't get aggressive. That said, I will get frustrated time from time, but then I just leave the game and do something else (like post on The Escapist).

Is this a case of game related aggression or football related aggression?

Think of all the violence that occurs because someone's favourite team has lost a match, just because it happens in a video game doesn't make it an easier pill to swallow.

Jeering and taunting are very important when playing games with friends, but keeping a healthy balance between friendly taunting and being mean is difficult. Problems usually arise when someone whos not used to being teased in objected to it, such as your friend.

Funny story though.

So, you taunted him like a jerk and he decked you? Sounds about right.
Aye, right on. I fail to see how this directly relates to video games at all. You (the OP) have stated that this guy (The Pimp) usually makes you his *****, he is the alpha male in your little relationship... and you were given the opportunity to make him look bad. You did, and you're surprised that he didn't quite like it?

This is not Game Related Aggression, this is a perfectly reasonable human response.

You're not actually Jack Thompson are you? Trying to fool the fools into sharing their violent stories with you and take a jab at a video game at the same time?

Sorry, you played the asshole and taunted him repeatedly over an extended period of time even though you knew he was getting really angry with you. You also didn't protect your nuts for some reason. No sympathy here.

I had an incident just like that, except it was with an RTS.

I was over at a cousins house with 3 of my cousins. Lets call them Cousin 1, 2, and 3.

Cousin 1 decides to have a LAN party of Age of Empires and we all agree. Cousin 1 is whooping all of our asses repeatedly for several games, and Cousin 2 and 3 are attempting to ally with him every game.

In one of these games Cousin 3 has his whole base not too far away from mine with no water separating us. He has built walls but left a section open for his civilians to get through to for supplies even though there is a gate feature. For some reason he thinks we are allies, even though we are neutral with each other. So I decide I want his land and take a mass army to his base.

Did I mention all 3 of my cousins are in the same room while I am downstairs? We are all using headphones to communicate though.

So while I raid his base and am in the process of completely raping him he starts screaming about how we were supposed to be allies. He then gets up and runs downstairs and bursts into the room I am in.

He practically starts choking me in my chair and reaches for the power button on my computer, what ensues is basically a power struggle with his finger reaching for the button. He wins and I regret not being able to complete destroying his base...

Needless to say we weren't allowed to play LAN again for a while >.>

i have a mate who gets really angry when he gets randomly/martyr'd fragged in COD4. he starts screaming about stabbing me in the face and gutting me like a fish. no actual violence has come from this. but still funny enough to make me strain myself to kill him in humilating ways, just to get him wound up.
