When you are interested in a game what source (magazine, webisite, TV show) do you go to to see if it is worth your time. Whenever i'm interested in buying a game I check to see what gamespot thinks of it and if it has generally positive reviews i'll buy it.

I use Youtube. I take a look at footage of someone who actually enjoys the game and plays it competently and let that be my guide to whether I think I'd like it rather than relying on the opinion of a stranger who depends on reviewing guidelines from before the N64 and who can't give a bad review to popular franchises because it'll decrease his pageviews.

I trust games reviews if they spell out the target audience somewhere in the review. GameTrailers and theescapist tend to preface their reviews with the "if you are a fan of such and such, the this game might interest you."

I tend to avoid reviews with numbers because they tell me nothing. I really do not care about them because they do not tell me anything about the game. All they tell me is how much the reviewer loves the game or hates it. Gametrailers uses the rating score, but they also use the caveat language.

I find Afrika to be awesome, but many players find it dull and boring.

Demos. Sometimes I'll check metacritic but my general rule is that if I haven't played it I won't buy it, because this shit is expensive and I have much better things to spend my time/money on.

Anything really. I don't look at reviews and what not for their scores. I look for their descriptions of the games. If I see a game I might be interested in I look at a variety of sources (GI, IGN, ZP etc.) and see how they describe the game, not how they rate it. Then if their descriptions appeal to me I rent it.

Gamespot tend to over-rate a lot of average games.

I don't trust thier reviews at all.

Whenever possible, I will play demo's. Either that, or play the game at my buddies house (if he has a particular game I am interested in, which he usually does).

I add up the Meta Critic scores, and if they have surplus 50 user reviews, I add that with it, then divide by 2 to get my Average.

For example, MW2 for PC gets 44.1% and thus I will not buy.

I usually keep tabs on games I'm intersted in throughout their development, and if I'm set in getting a game, I'll get it.

Occasionally, I'll trust word of mouth, or if a game that I only have a slight interest in comes reccomended I'll usually play that too.

Not much escapes my gaming notice, and usually reviews factor into only a tiny bit of that.

I look at gamespot mostly.

If i listened to zero punctuation i would never buy a game.
