the only good Nintendo series left is Legend of Zelda.
Zelda is disqualified for CDi.
That never happened.

OT: There is no Game Series that can do no wrong. Every series has a pitfall within its library. Zelda had Zelda II. Mario had Mario II. Metroid had Metroid: Other M. Call of Duty had MW3.
You can't say they didn't happen, they certainly did happen; however they can be safely disregarded since Nintendo doesn't even acknowledge them.

I do agree though that there is no series that can do no wrong. As has been proven a lot lately, ever series can quite easily go wrong. As quite a few series that I once enjoyed have been going sour lately.

EDIT: Maybe I've just become overly jaded.

Metal Gear Solid.

Personally, I am not into them; but I think Kojima can release a blank DVD and fans will run to buy it and cry "Game of the Year" later on.

Kind of like Apple...

Borderlands (if it may count) clocking almost 400 hours in the first game and roughly 200 in the second). Have yet to find mayor faults.

Nothing "can do no wrong", Humans are fallible, thus human cannot create un-fallible things.
My fav series for instance, Assassin's Creed, did have Revelations (shudder), so that clearly can indeed do wrong. Mass effect had the ending, so that too.

DLC is just one of the things that everyone, no matter how good, gets wrong.
Well, there was that one AC:Brohood DLC that was free, and had a better plot than the actual game, so i think that didn't cause any harm. It was pretty damn good, actually. Oh, and there is Lair of the Shadow Broker for ME2, which was also better than the main plot. wasn't free though...

Nope. Everything can and does do wrong.
This is not in any way restricted to video games or media at all, and there is no exception.

And there's good Elder Scrolls DLC. And bad Mass Effect/AC DLC. Point being, criticizing DLC as part of the main series is sort of pointless. Nobody really knows the formula for producing good DLC all the time, so everyone falls down on the job occasionally. I don't hold it against them.

I'd say Half-Life 2, because it, Episode 1, and 2 were all good, and Episode 3 will never come out, so it can't possibly be ruined.

What? I assume you mean Super Mario Bros. 2? I thought that was great, still do.

Anyway, OT: My favorite game series is probably Banjo-Kazooie. Now, I've never played Nuts'n'Bolts, and don't plan to (the update/redesign of title characters is just horrid), but the original games for the 64 were just fantastic, and I find them just as fun today. I do a replay on my 360 every now and then. But can it do no wrong? Oh, it definitely can (Nuts'n'Bolts). Oh Rare, why oh why did you leave Nintendo?

Yea, sorry. I wrote that shortly after waking up. Anyways, the game was fine, but it wasn't a real Mario game. It was Doki Doki Panic if I recall correctly.

I never got a chance to play those games, I was thinking about picking up either the original Carts or just downloading it from XBLA.
Might as well go XBLA, it's updated to fit a HD screen. It looks the same, except better, kind of. Everything is just a little sharper. The controls are very nice and fit the 360 controller very well, and the camera controls more smoothly with the analog stick than the old c-buttons. They're also not too expensive, and if you get them both, the Stop'n'Swop feature originally intended for the 64 has been implemented. Just a tad strange seeing the Microsoft logo where Nintendo's would be originally.

I also checked Doki Doki Panic out on Youtube, and wow, it is EXACTLY the same game. Kind of disappointed in Nintendo now. Not a big deal though, Super Mario World was always my favorite, until 64 came out. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever played a Mario game I didn't like. Haven't played one since the N64 though, except for Luigi's Mansion, but still.

Well Half Life is the ony series i can think of that hasn't been tainted with sub-par sequals, investor interference or oversaturation. Biggest problem is not having enough of it.

I think you guys took the title a little too literally. I just meant your game series that rarely disappoints.

Also, Other M isn't even in the Prime trilogy. Maybe I shouldn't have even mentioned it to avoid confusion.

Metal Gear (Solid). No matter how insane a spinoff is, it'll be accepted because Kojima Productions know how to do their shit (include knowing which companies to hand their series to. I will NEVER forgive Capcom.)

Say what you want about the games, but they appeal to their fans, and that's what's important.
Have you seen some fans rant about MGS2?

That sounds a bit self-contradictory.

If you have to omit game from the series in order to say that it has done no wrong then clearly that series has done something wrong.

...

OT: I'm pretty sure I could find a flaw somewhere in any series that I love. Even Portal 2 had some weak bits near the start.
and the hilarious but frustrating old aperture section in the middle of the game. god help me i probably viewed walkthoughs on that part more than 20 times.

CDi exists. Deal with it.

I took 18 seconds of that video before wanting to punch link in the babymakers and break his jaw......

OT: I think the GTA series can do no wrong, people may think GTA IV was shit but the fact is they had a great story and whatever flaws found were overshadowed by a brilliant game and fantastic story and world
