Game series that must be ended!

Call of Duty. It's just the same thing each time, only reskinned. And i hate those who worship CoD, there's better FPS out there, like Bioshock, Crysis, Resistance: Fall of Man and the Battlefield series.

Call of Duty is, unlike Battlefield and Medal of Honor, not reskinned everytime. for every game (except WaW) they have used a new engine. also, COD easily stands out of the crowd because of great games like COD4, WaW, COD2 and probably also the upcoming MW2.

Not trying to flame here, but you're wrong. Medal of Honour may be reskinned everytime, But Battlefield isn't. Bad Company was different to all previous iterations and had many new features.

The CoD engine is still based on the Quake 3 engine (AFAIK) but I've played WaW and it's nothing special, because i've played better FPS. And it only 'stands out' because the mainstream love it. Modern Borefare 2 isn't gonna be great. It's not going to be terrible either. It's going to be decent. Nothing more, nothing less.

Call of Duty, unless they decide to do something OTHER than World War II, in which case they should keep going. Maybe something like Call of Duty: In Space? It would work, as long as they did it properly. There's no such thing as a bad idea for a game. Execution is what matters.

Battlefield. I remember BF1942, then they made Battlefield Vietnam, then Battlefield 2, then Battlefield 2142, and now they've reverted back to WWII by making Battlefield 1943? What the hell? I want my Battlefield 3015! As in, FIGHTING ON DIFFERENT (more exotic locations than just snow and orange desert under burning sun and standard temperate climate) PLANETS, and FUTURISTIC (as in, from the VERY DISTANT future) TECHNOLOGY!

Fable, Molyneux, Fable II was about as good as you're going to get with this series, and that's still not too good, so just give it up and make another Black and White already.

i dont know what people like about cod4 i dont even know why i still play it but one thing i did like was custimizable classes

Thats a lie. Crisis Core was better than the original game imo. Although thats a prequel, not a sequel. I agree about the others though, Dirge of Cerberus was a crappy Devil May Cry rip off and Advent Children was a bit meh. Not played the mobile game, but mobile games aren't usually very good so...

I agree the VII series should be dropped though. Final Fantasy VII just wasn't that good. Cloud and Sephiroth werent exactly brilliant characters either. Cloud was emo and had the personality of a rock, and Sephiroth just wanted his mammy. (Although I do admit both characters managed to be decent in Crisis Core.)

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks so.

For anyone saying that there is ANY series out there that needs to end; don't play it, don't read about it, don't give a shit about it. But jesus, is it really needed to want to end something just because YOU don't like it? That's retarded.

I'm saying Metal Gear Solid. 4 should never have been made. Yes, I went there.

MGS 1,2 and 3 were all brilliant, although The Twin Snakes was a bit strange. I just found MGS 4 to be an abject failure in my view.

I'm shocked that it was 30 posts into this thread before someone mentioned MGS, I'm right there with you. 4 didn't quite have the spark that the others did (though I do rank the ending right up there with the best of them).

I'm tempted to say Fable, but despite Fable2 being pretty damn bad I think there's still loads of potential left in the series.

halo, _____ hero, and sonic the hedgehog. fallout, elder scrolls as well imo. halo, ___hero, and sonic just need to die. they had their run. fallout 2 had a good ending now they had to continue it? the enclave is gone and we're safe from oppression again so humans can continue on back to dominance and now the west coast is a strong foothold in the dominance. happy ending. done. no more. elder scrolls 4 kinda killed the series off with the ending so it needs to end before it gets pathetic or laughable. how can any new threats appear after the *oblivion ENDING HERE*? we supposed to be scared of a plague of rats or other mundane creature the guards can easily handle? right...

To be honest, Oblivion was at odds with so many elements of Morrowind that it was laughable.

And my contribution..........Gran Turismo, despite it changing the face of driving games waaaay back on the PS1, it hasn't aged well.

People who complain about 13+ Final Fantasy games not being all that Final need to go learn about why the series is named that.

As for the music games, I think those can stop being released if DLC keeps coming out, because at least they're something other than mindless shooters that just take the code and do a ctrl+c ctrl+v......Which brings me to Halo. Reach needs to be the last game, or the entire series will degrade to just Bungie beating a dead horse.

How many reiterations of football, rugby, american football, golf, and anything else, does there need to be!? Surely they've done everything they can do with the by now.
I mean sure, bring one of each out on a console each generation... but what the hell is the point in like a billion madden games one after the other on the same console?
