Sure, it isn't realistic to have your bullets become more powerful the longer you look down the scope, but it is sure pathetic and arbitrary.PayNSprayBandit said:Well let me say this, I really enjoyed that sequence in CoD4, because as you say it felt like being a sniper, rather just carrying a rifle with a scope like you'd carry any other gun; but I think it's important to say that doing sniping well in campaign and doing it well in multiplayer are not the same thing. A different approach must be taken to keep gameplay balanced.

Two prime examples:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has an excellent sniping sequence in it, which is actually realistic and intense at the same time. However, the rest of the ingame sniping is fairly unrealistic and standard.
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Truly exceptional in my opinion. It simply feels really good. You see a bullet travelling realistically when you shoot and then the kickback, breath-holding, and bobbing are all done incredibly well.
Which games do you think have really well-done or really realistic sniping?
Actually it's very easy to make kills unscoped. Your shot always goes to the exact centre of your screen.Shycte said:I adore the one in Team Fortress 2. It makes it impossible to use un-scoped and it makes you think in new ways.
