I can't believe (although I guess I'm not surprised) that people are claiming Halo's sniping is good. Halo's sniping is awful. It makes the game completely unbalanced. There are no drawbacks to sniping. In most games, if you are sniping, while jumping, running, etc. your accuracy is greatly reduced, and you wouldn't be able to hit the broad side of a barn without a ton of luck. Right about now people are saying, "Well you still have to be skilled to hit people." To that I respond: that could be said for any weapon.
I guess my point is, sniping in Halo takes much less skill than in many other games, therefore many more people are "good" at it, and it throws off the balance. Plus, I don't know how many times I've seen team killing from people fighting over the sniper rifle.
This could be true of other games as well, I don't know, I don't play very many FPS. If I had to pick one I guess I'd say Counterstrike, but what do I know.
Just my opinion.
