I'm gonna go ahead and say Mass Effect 3. Excellent combat and characters (though the overall plot was a little weak and Kai Leng was a horrible villain) through and through, with the only major stumbling block being the ending.

Honorable mention goes to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. It has its issues to be sure, but is overall extremely enjoyable to play. Also, invisibility is awesome.

The best game I've played so far this year is the Game of Thrones RPG. The story captures the world really well, and is a good story in its own right.

It has many faults, and the gameplay is just above adequate, but it was easily worth it, and I will gladly give it a second playthrough.

Well I only played two new releases this year, Mass Effect 3 and the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Mass Effect 3, despite its flaws, was very enjoyable, on my 3rd play-through, and Witcher 2 was very good and my only regret is that I don't own it (had to rent cause I'm poor).

Probably Guild Wars 2. It's the only high-profile release lately that hasn't left me horribly disappointed...actually, it's the only game in a long time that lives up to standards for me. And it's only in beta.

I do enjoy Mass Effect 3's multiplayer though, and the main game had it's moments of fun. Overall it ended up a disappointment, but in the moment it was alright. Case of building up the potential but never delivering, I guess.

Disappointing year for games, IMO. Good for movies though.

Well I guess seeing as it's pretty muc the only game I've been playing this year... League of Legends. If it wasn't enjoyable I wouldn't be playing it. Right?
I've done both of the Guild Wars 2 beta weekends, but seeing as it hasn't actually been released, I won't count it, though I do find it far more enjoyable than League of Legends.

Dark Souls.
Yes, I know it came out last year, and yes, I bought it on launch, but I took a bit of a hiatus after making two good characters, and the release of Skyrim.
Picked it up again a couple of months ago, and created five more character builds and completed all of them.
It's great, satisfying fun.

Thinking about it, there are more games I've enjoyed this year than I thought I would, so far this year, Mass Effect 3 (yeah, even the ending), Catherine, Tales of Graces f, Journey and Lollipop Chainsaw.

Such a shame the rest of the year is pretty dry for me seeing as The Last of Us isn't out until next year and I'm waiting to see if Resident Evil 6 gets decent reviews before buying it.

Out of all the games released in 2012 I think I've only played 3 or 4 and Mass Effect 3 would probably be my favourite out of all of those. However I did recently pick up LOTR: War in the North (released late 2011) and I had an immensely fun time playing that - more than I should have all things considered - co-op with a friend, but it's the game that I played for the this year that I've enjoyed the most.

Well it was this year that I discovered LoL and that some of the most fun I have had with a multiplayer game. Also the most money I have ever spent on a F2P game because I enjoy it so much.

I also recently picked up Mount and Blade: With fire and sword in a steam sale and it's a lot of fun, it's a setting that I really enjoyed a couple of years ago and I wish I found it back then.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater 3D. I didn't pick this up on the ps2 and I'm really glad I didn't. Hideo Kojima's masterpiece looks stunning in 3D.

I bought Psychonauts in the Humble Bundle, and I loved every second of it (though the last level was almost frustratingly hard).

Skyrim.

Sure, I bought Mass Effect 3 and finished it to play it through to get an ending and I got it (I am one of the few that liked the ending, don't know why people ***** so much), but the game that I have enjoyed most is definetly Skyrim.

Started a challenge with a mate to start new characters on Master difficulty and see who could complete the main quest with the least amount of deaths.

Very satisfying actually :)
