Well, I finished reading everyone's commends. Some said how I should be sure of what I want, some said how I should learn to respect my current qualities, some said how I should not feel pressured to hook up immediately, and some jokingly (or sometimes seriously) said I should grab a beer and become a jerky chick picker-upper.
Putting those together, I decided that part of what keeps me from making any bold moves is that I really don't want to change. Even the jokes helped me see the kind of person I really didn't want to become. Bottom line: I just need to respect who I am and let nature take its course. Perhaps I'll join some groups while I'm at it. Thanks for the advice everyone.
