Gamers but not geeks?

Me too i only play games and read The punisher comic that's all i do so i don't consider myself a geek
Not all geeks are gamers, not all gamers are geeks. Geek is a wide term, It can become many different sub terms. Gamer has a few as well. Just drop the names and enjoy what you enjoy.

I don't identify as a nerd or a geek, or as anything really. I have very few nerdy or geeky interests, the only real one is gaming, and I am not even a 'hardcore' gamer for that matter. Somewhere in-between hardcore and casual would probably describe my gaming habits according to most gamers.
Nerd culture makes me roll my eyes and to be honest I rarely get along with nerds or geeks and find them fairly annoying for the most part. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt and I am not one to judge right away, but simply from my experiences I have not gotten along too well with nerds or geeks. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why I am not too keen on the community here for the most part. Or any online gaming communities in general.

I'm with you SimuLord. I have no clue at all about comics and I despise anime. I also don't like Star Trek but I absolutely love Star Wars. I guess you could call me a geek based on games and some of the movies I watch, though. I don't dress geeky. I wear name brands and stuff. I go out with friends.
But I can tell you the meanings of words like DOT, AoE, apm, fps, hud, reticule, ~, and more. I'm a pretty hardcore gamer and that's geeky. Very geeky. Oh, and did I mention I'm in Computing Sciences? That's also kind of geeky.
I'd say I'm geeky but not a geek. You're part geek but it doesn't define you.
Sidenote:
I really don't like the geek-chic movement, though. "It's cool to look like a geek as long as you aren't one". Brought on by that disgusting show, Big Bang Theory, it's now cool to spout random quotes of things you don't identify with and wear shirts saying "E = MC LOL IM A DORK SO IM COOL".
