College campuses become a lot more interesting with a CoD 4 mindset. I occasionally start thinking "If I get a sniper to perch up there and an M249 down next to there, no one would be able to traverse the main part of campus. Of course, you have to watch out for..."

Not only do I think to quicksave when I haven't gotten enough sleep, I am afraid that the crazy looking homeless people I see are going to produce a 2x4 and charge me...

Playing Vice City for 12 hours straight. Real world situation the next day and I had, for just split second mind, the thought to steal a car.

I can't even drive.

My chemistry teacher wrote a formula on the blackboard, CS2.

My immediate thought was "Counter-Strike 2"

Also, I actively see explosive objects everywhere now. You know those little propane tanks from Left 4 Dead, the round, white ones?

They're everywhere.

Sometimes I walk into governmental portal research laboratories, grab a suit, don't talk and wander around killing zombies and aliens while being chased by the military.
Wow I thought I was alone in doing that.
Do you also like bashing up police with crowbars?
Oh wait... should I have said that?

I subconsciously try to hit ctrl+z whenever I make a mistake in my note-taking, or ctrl+f when I'm looking for something in my textbook.

Also, after a friend and I were playing Gears of War 2 on Insane for about six hours, I kept trying to take cover when we went downstairs for a snack.

And yet another time, after playing Starcraft for several hours, I went to Fred Meyers to buy a drink. I saw a bunch of people standing in line and I kept trying to select the "lazy bastards" to make them do something.

Ever since I beat Assassin's Creed I've had this weird habit of looking up at buildings and plotting the easiest way to climb them.

I reach for the quickload key a lot. Sometimes I'll hear game osts that aren't really there. I draw a lot of turn based strategy battles based on actual missions in games, instead of notes, and I tend to write down my d2d actions and the expected d2d actions of the AI. I think I'm going nuts. Oh wait, I'm already at the right place.

Sometimes I will randomly hear achievement unlocked sounds in my head. Also whenever I'm listening to a song, I'll often map out the Guitar Hero note chart in my head to see if it'll make a good GH song. AND when I take one of those tests where you have to fill in the bubbles, I pretend it's a guitar hero note chart and hum out the tune it would go to in my head.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this - where your gaming mindset almost takes over real life?
When my car radio started playing reggae, I had the overwhelming urge to run over hookers and old people.

True story.

At one point, I was in school after playing GTA: Vice City, and I couldn't help but think, "I don't need an education! I'll just use my money cheat, and- oh."

I think this is called video game fever. It's where repetitive playing of a video game affects your perception of reality. When I close my eyes, I see the latest video game I'm playing projected onto my eyelids. It's freaky.

The Tony Hawk games had me looking at buildings in an entirely new light. Often I'd catch myself imagining the most effective way to grind ledges on a building to get to the roof. There might be an awesome drained pool there.

After switching to Skate, however, I'm just constantly reminded how bad I suck at skateboarding.

sometimes when I make a mistake while writing/drawing, or doing homework on paper and I make a mistake, I think "CTRL + Z", and go to push it, only to realize there is no keyboard in real life and I'm an idiot :p

That happened when I tried to play through Fallout 3 and Mass Effect in long strings at the same time.

One night, I had a dream I was playing Fallout 3 and it was the worst night's sleep I ever got.

The other day I dreamt that I was playing the soon to be released prototype. I have been waiting for it almost obsessively.

After I played Manhunt for a month solidly I found that for a while afterwards I exclusively wore blue shirts with the sleeves rolled up (like the talented Mr. James Earl Cash) and felt safe when I stood in shadey corners (along with an irrisistable urge to brutally slaughter some people who piss me off at college...then again that urge was there before I played Manhunt).

I would like to add that I am not a psycho, I am not a murderer or serial killer and I'm not even a remotely violent person.
