Awesome. I am so glad other people think like this too. After many hours playing Jonah Lomu rugby (best sports game ever), I would always have R1+R2 in my head whenever I tried to fend someone off when playing a real game.

Oooooh time to prove my lack of distinction between real and virtual.

Every time I walk through a doorway, Im convinced that I can hear the click of a claymore.

After playing Prince of Persia, I tried to wall run alongside some garages. I then realised that I am not the prince at all.

I once went driving after a 5 hour session on Burnout. Never again.

After playing Fallout, I genuinely had to remind myself not to pickpocket my friends cigarettes.

I am a dangerous individual :(

Never got like that from playing games, but when I first got out of the army a backfiring car could have me literally hitting the ground to take cover. And to this day I am constanting scanning roof lines and such examining them for potential danger. And I served totally in peace no combat action ever for me, possibly a good thing.

I think this is called video game fever. It's where repetitive playing of a video game affects your perception of reality. When I close my eyes, I see the latest video game I'm playing projected onto my eyelids. It's freaky.
Yeah it's Tetris effect. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect

And yeah this happens to me all the time. Like after playing Splinter Cell I had this urge to shoot out streetlights.

Ha! No way!! I got that really bad over Xmas when I was playing loads of Puzzle Quest!! I'd try to make lines out of multicoloured tree lights and crowds of people in crowds wearing same-colour tops. And when I shut my eyes to sleep, damned coloured gems everywhere!!
Good to know I'm not entirely abnormal :p

My friends and I tend to walk single file when traveling long distances. In fact, we tend to always be in a marching order very similar to the archtypes of video game RPG characters we like to play (tank up front, mage in back, etc etc...)
I totally lol'd. You preciouss young kids.
Recently, saint's row II has occupied my thought machine, how I would roam the neighbourhood with whatever vehicle there happens to be on the curbside etc etc...
usually this doesnt happen : /

Once when I still played an online game, I woke up at about 4 AM, and groggilly moved my fingers about the covers, thinking I was inside a game, and I thought to myself "Its really late, I wanna go to sleep" At which point, I began to look for the log out button, I got pissed and thought my game froze when I couldnt pull a log out screen out of thin air.

There's actually a way of doing this and letting games into real life anyway. Ever heard of Assassin? It's a real life game where basically you join a guild (very popular in high school and university societies, I've been trying to find out more about the University of Leeds one). When you join, the guild leaders will give you a target and possibly a particular weapon restriction (rules vary from guild to guild but the all follow the same formula). The target will be someone else in your guild and weapons can be anything from water pistols to eggs to simply touching them, or adding pepper to their food (the 'poison' technique). When you 'kill' your target, you will be given their target and they lose the game. You then follow their target and 'kill' them, and it keeps going until only one person is left - the winner. Games can go on for weeks and players develop a healthy sense of paranoia and stealth skills, and competitions are often held in guilds for prizes. Very fun apparently, I recommend it (or would if I could get involved, the Leeds guild seems to run through our student union but I can't get any more info...).

Sometimes I feel like the guy from Assassins Creed when I'm walking around school. I always imagine just walking by people and pick pocketing them just to hear them say "Wait, WTF, where did my keys go?!" as I walk off with a smile.
