I would like to play Bayonetta 2. I do not want to get a WiiU and I do not see that changeing as I hate motion controls.
But....Beyonetta and all WiiU games with the exception of co-op modes in games will be using the gamepad with no motion control needed.

OT. I gotta be honest, while it sickens me that these so called "hardcore" gamers are giving us real gamers a bad name, its been fun reading about it.
See I did not know that. However there is no way in hell I am buying a new console for one game and I have no interest in playing the same mario game I played 15 years ago with better graphics.

I also agree with you. It has been fun watching all the douche nozzels go bat shit crazy.

You know, it's over-reactions like this that Jim Sterling has talked about on a number of videos, as well as this week. Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U is not a negative on the gaming industry.

This is a game that at first wasn't going to be released because Sega decided to abandon it due to financial issues. Thanks to Nintendo however, we can now rest assured that Bayonetta 2 will finally be released and we can finally kick and shoot more angels with the many weapons of Bayonetta, as well as be happy about the game (if it is any good, that is).

But of course, this is the internet, which has to overreact to announcements like this and make pathetic statements such as saying they will commit suicide because of the fact that this game is coming to the Wii U.

A sequel that many gamers have wanted is finally announced and the gamers aren't happy about it because it is on a console that they have likely not even played yet. That is simply what the haters are saying, and I have to ask "What the hell do you want, gamers?"

If Mirrors Edge 2 or Beyond Good & Evil 2 (sequels that gamers want to see made) were announced for the Wii U, and the gamers made this kind of over-reaction simply because it's on the Wii U, then I can guarantee you that they would get the backlash of the gaming community for being idiots.

Few people ***** about Terraria going to consoles.
Escapist: "OMG PCGAMERS ARE WHINY DICKS!"
Few people ***** about Bayonetta going to WiiU.
Escapist: " Oh, how terribly ignorant of those people."

And I just generalized the same way because Im also part of Escapist and so balance of the universe has been kept.

You've also got Rayman: Legends, ZombiU, Monster Hunter 3 Deluxe, an AWESOME version of Tekken, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros and a confirmed Zelda game coming exclusively on the Wii U. Stop thinking that just because NSMB isn't really all that innovative that it's the only game you'll get on the system that's worth looking at. And really, 3D Marios are always very different from the last, compare Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy then tell me you're playing the same game. Sure, they released a sequel to Galaxy, but I can guarantee you the 3D Mario for the Wii U will be very different.

OH! You've also got a brand new IP from Platinum called "The Wonderful 101", an exclusive lego game that's looking to be really fun, a game called Tank Tank Tanks! which just looks bonkers, Scribblenauts: Unlimited which looks amazing and Nintendo Land which looks like this generation's Wii Sports.

Well I'm mad too.
To a much lesser extent though, I always get pissed when a series switches consoles for NO reason.

Indigo Prophecy = Xbox
Heavy Rain = PS3

Record of Agarest War = Xobx 360
Agarest War zero = Xbox 360
Agarest 2 = PS3

Kotor 1&2 =Xbox
SW: TOR = PC

And now Bayonetta

They're just system sellers.
Wouldn't it make more sense to release games on all systems so you have the largest possible audience?

Just take solace in the knowledge that it's probably going to suck.

No reason? You haven't heard that Sega had dropped the project, and nobody else wanted it because of it's crappy reception the first time so Nintendo picked the dying game up and gave them the funding and publishing to get it going again. So either this or no Bayonetta 2 at all, make your choice. Also, Kotor 1 and 2 were on the PC, and the MMO was an MMO, which have never worked on consoles especially a WoW type MMO like SW: TOR. And if every game was released for every system then what incentive would one have to buy another console? Why would someone buy a PS3 at launch for 600 dollars when they can just get an Xbox 360 or Wii for much less? They bought it for stuff like God Of War, Uncharted and Resistance, all of which were exclusives.

Oh, god. "Punch a dolphin in the vagina". That is priceless. Made me lol hardcore.

But seriously, I'm kinda used to that now. I'm not saying I'm okay with Nintendo stealing the game for their shitty console but it seems to be a trend now. Ever since Square Enix did that with Kingdom Hearts (From PS2 to GBA to PS2 again to DS to PSP to 3DS. Wtf?), I lost all hope.

Well, my condolences to the fans of the series. But still, Nintendo, it's not a good enough reason to make abandon my current console and switch to the WiiU. Even if KH3 was released for the WiiU, I wouldn't switch. Ever since I bought the Wii and realized I only had like 5 good games to play, I've lost my faith on Nintendo.

It's cool. I stand corrected on the motion controls but I already looked at that list and Bayonetta is the only thing I would want to play.

Damn... you must have a really limited taste in games then, you gotta admit that covers pretty much most genres, except third and first person shooters (ZombiU is first person, but it's survival horror, not a shooter). What exactly WOULD you want to play on it then?

It's not the developer's fault that the game was saved by Nintendo...

And it's not Nintendo's fault that they don't want to settle for 1/3 of the sales.
you seem to have changed your post since you replyed to me, espacialy as that was not my quote :), but in responce to what you said to me I know that many 360 and PS3 games will be ported over. Just one thing. I already have both a 360 and a PS3.

I mostly play RPGs, sandbox (Ass Creed, infamous, Batman), RTS, the odd FPS (not many through, not my thing). I tried monster hunter before and it did not do anything for me, I do not enjoy fighting games and I have never liked Zelda. I remember having some fun with smash bros and smash bros melee back in the day but brawl killed it for me.

I will not get one becuase the games do not appeal to me so far. That my change in the future. I am not one of the hater fools who will not buy it just because it is Nintendo.

I honestly don't care I haven't played the original, so probably won't play the sequel. I do think it's stupid how people are complaining over it though. At least they are finally getting a sequel.

That's fine, I can see why you wouldn't get one if the type of games don't appeal to you. Just FYI, Assassin's Creed 3 is out launch day on it, and a special edition of Arkham City also. And really, I see a bright future for RTS's on the console due to the touch screen, it just seems better than just using a controller. RPG's aren't really being represented so far (Monster Hunter's an RPG, but you don't like that so yeah). It's fine to not get one just yet because you don't see any games that interest you. But if in the future a load of games DO interest you that are exclusive to the Wii U come out and you still are saying that the library's shit then that's just blind hate. This is just a matter of different tastes, which is fine.

I'm getting one because I'm loving the look of ZombiU, Rayman: Legends and The Wonderful 101. Pikmin 3 is also a must get for me.

People are complaining that a game that wouldn't be made will be made, only under the conditions that SATAN (Nintendo) will only get the game. If Mirror's Edge 2 was only made for the Wii U just because EA feels like it and not because SATAN was willing to buy exclusivity, the outrage would be a little bit more justified. It's still less stupid when compared to the Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy 13 and Terraria situation.

Not all of RareWare, just the aforementioned franchises. Though, I'm not 100% certain if they're actually doing this or not.

Nintendo learned from their first annual loss. They admitted their mistake of being so laser-focused on the "Kiddie" and "Casual" crowd, who never even cared about Nintendo anyway, leaving the rest of us behind. So, they're trying to make it up to us by focusing more on mature titles than they ever have before.

WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED OF THIS! If this is true all of my goddamn dreams would have come true! Eternal Darkness is to this day one my favourite survival horror games, and a sequel on a next gen console would be f'ing amazing. Just think of the number of ways they can fuck with your head using the gamepad! Like, it automatically switches over to the TV and makes you play on the gamepad if your sanity gets low. Or the gamepad's screen turns into something grotesque or just stops working altogether! The possibilities!

I think the main issue is how little sense it makes compared with the nintendo of today. The nintendo of today has a family friendly, even cutesy image, and it doesn't seem to make sense for such a game, a fairly violent game with an undeniably sexual lead, to become exclusive to the new nintendo console.

That said, Wii u's lineup is shaping up to be varied, providing kid/granny friendly entertainment and action titles in equal measure, but to counter that point, we've seen this before. Wii also promised a mix, which nintendo almost purposely failed at.

So, a lot of bitterness, feelings of betrayal and distrust=this reaction.

Of course, however, they're free to do as they please. Any company is. We're equally entitled to feel displeased and express that displeasure, but these threats go a little far, to say the least.
