And yet no matter how bland, tasteless and samey those cupcakes may allegedly be said fans apparently still liked them enough to spend a load of money on them.

Bit like ME3 itself in that regard.

I think the only real question left is, what can I write here that would be controversial enough to get you people to mail me some cupcakes. I'm hungry over here.
If I wanted to mail you guys some baked goods, how would I go about doing that? You guys don't have a shipping address listed!
Your avatar picture is exactly how I imagine Bioware studios will react on receiving...gulp...cup cakes.

What?

People are protesting en masse because they did not like the ending of their videogame?

What is wrong with you?

400 cupcakes can not be divided evenly into 3 different colors.
Space Magic. That's how.

OT: I approve. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, after all.
Trying to catch bees; heavy risk, but the prize.

OT: That's awfully nice, not sure Bioware will actually care, though.

Who organized this protest? Pinkie Pie?

Pinkie Pie approves of this protest

But seriously, I can't decide if this "protest" is stupidly ridiculous or crazily awesome. I'm thinking maybe a bit of both. 10/10 for creativity though.

"I have $1000 dollars. What should I do with it?"

"Should I spending it on buying well balanced meals for 100 or so starving homeless children?
No, that would be a waste."

"I know! I'll buy a mix of 400 vanilla flavored cupcakes with colored icing, (red, blue, and green), and send them to Bioware to protest the ending of Mass Effect 3!"

"I'm such a good person! *pat self on the back*"
This has been a theory to what the person who thought this was actually a good idea was thinking.

You know what would be a better way to protest that directly effects the company without saying a word or lifting a finger? A way that doesn't involve spending an abundance of money and time that could be used to instead help cure cancer or feed starving children and in fact SAVES you money?

STOP
THROWING
THEM
YOUR
MONEY

What exactly are you taking back? You've already given them your money and we all know that you will continue buying their products regardless of what they do next. They have been aware of their fans displeasure regarding the ending and don't need to be given an absurd amount of free cupcakes to be reminded. As for the ending itself? Who cares, it's just a game and you shouldn't expect to be spoon fed rainbows and unicorns along with your happily ever afters. Does every game have to end predictably?

So, we can get people to raise funds so people can whine about the ending to a videogame, which results in us sending food to people with fairly decent salaries, yet there are people in third world countries starving and we can't bat an eye at that?

Cmon people, its just a game. Yeah, the ending was bad. Do you really think a DLC will fix that? A DLC isn't going to be able to offer the complexity you think the ending deserves. And your going to have to pay for it. BioWare isn't dumb, they know how to make games - making a shitty ending so they can retcon it and sell you a slightly better one was probably in their plans the whole time - it worked with Fallout 3 (although, there wasn't nearly the backlash were seeing now).

Do you think hosting charities with using ME3's name and sending them treats is going to do something? You're giving them free publicity - saving them thousands in PR and Advertising. Your CONSTANTLY giving them free press, which brings them to the forefront of gamers minds - once again, saving them thousands in PR and advertising work. All so they can make a product to SELL to you for a premium - with no guarentee that it will even be good.

Just let it die. It was bad, refuse to buy their future products and stop mentioning it.

I think them most appropriate response would be for Bioware to commission Micheal Bay to make a short film about Mass Effect.

I approve of this action, instead of that other stuff, this is the stuff you should be doing...

I like where this is going... if we send more cupcakes every time Bioware sell-out or lower the quality of their work.. well, soon you won't be able to see Bioware's headquarters for the mountain of cupcakes!!

Death by cake.

Oh Bioware, to think you once stood shoulder to shoulder with Interplay/black isle... where did you go so wrong.

Or since this is a protest, perhaps this would be more accurate (warning, contains gore):

$1000 dollars on this! all those damn charity's out there needing cash and they spend it on this. Whiney little nerds. I'm going to send cupcakes to all the bullys who made there lives hell through school. The icing will say one thing. Good job!

That comparison is bad. the bullies who made lives hard for these "whiny little nerds" (assuming any of them were even bullied) never made anything for these "nerds" worth sending Cupcakes for.

Try, Or rather Troll Harder.

OT: A very clever way to get the point across. well done.
