We are the nintendo generation. I will most definitely ask my lady to marry me like that if she is a gamer like me. But it will have to be a Zelda game.

This kind of reminds me of that guy who made a really complicated level in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, in which he named the only "gap" in the game "[Name] Will You Marry Me?" and sent it to his girlfriend.

I'm not doing this story any justice, it was a pretty awesome execution. I saw it in an old issue of GamePro I had lying around in my garage. I had a subscription to them for almost half my life until I picked up an internet connection.

cliché at its worst. this is why i hate gamers (don't get me wrong here, i hate everyone, but i reserved a special spot in hell for gamers).
I think you might be on the wrong site then, seeing as this is a gaming magazine forum filled with gamers and lovers of games.

Although, the Escapist does have some pretty cool stuff, even for non-gamers.

edit-

sorry for posting twice in a row. I posted before I saw that other post, and wanted to quote it.

Creating a game as a wedding invitation and making proposals in video games, so creative and yet they're still scum! Scum of the earth I say! Gamers one and all, I hate them, I'm so jealous cause they're so cool and I'm not! ;P

Filling in time on the escapist till you have to steal Christmas, aye Mr Grinch?

Or are you taking a break whilst designing your doomsday weapon?

0/5: Blam this piece of crap!

I don't care if someone makes a game for an invitation, but at least make it fun. If you can't do that, try and at least make it artsy.
Or force them to play I Wanna Be The Guy for an invitation. Make it a very small ceremony.

Wow, that's really lame and pathetic, but I guess if they're happy than it doesn't matter how their invite their guests.

Probably the most awesome way to invite someone to your wedding.

Except maybe dropping Chuck Norris on them and letting him strangle them until they buy their Tux
Or sending Metallica round to everyone's house to sing a version of Enter Sandman with the lyrics changed to a wedding invite.
If I get married, I'm going to make you the planner.
That was one of the most awesome ideas I've ever heard.
YES INDEED. that would be the most epic wedding invite ever.
if only...
OT: that's interesting. i myself would never do that, but i s'pose it's cute... ish:S

Wow, if this is the invite, just imagine the wedding! But I have to say, this is pretty awesome.

Hardly pathetic. A little different maybe, but I wouldn't say pathetic. I'm sure they'll have a great wedding!

Interesting, made more annoying by being distracted by the ripped music I kept recognizing. I don't know who Christoph "Ekko" Meyer is (as listed in the credits) but I sure as hell know a Rob Hubbard tune when I hear it! (I'd let a remix pass, but c'mon? A direct rip outta SIDPlay? File/Save As does not make you a musician....)

that's cool, my fav is still the guy that edited up a part of Chrono Trigger to tell a story of his and his girl's life and propose to her in it.

yeah, copying a few mario/donkey kong stages is very creative. i bet if i did the same and released it as a game, everyone would condone me for my creativity and not sue my ass into oblivion for stealing game assets!

doing this isn't creative, it's predictable, zany and corny. if they had designed their own game, or puzzle, or anything original i would have taken my hat off. but, you see, i don't give people credit for ripping off others.
