C++ is an empowering experience. I only officially started learning it this semester (been doing some screwing around with it from January till summer, official language before that: Scheme, LiSP's bastard child) and I feel like I can do anything with it. The only limits are my knowledge, skills and dedication. It's truly amazing.

But back to the main subject: any other programming languages that are interesting for a game dev to be? Most interested in how efficient they are in term of computer resources. Cross platform is not my main concern at the moment, so please mention if the language in question has to go through an emulation layer.
