Simply, the songs that are good on their own even if you dont know about the game and manages to still sound awesome after you play the game and learn the story.

Ghost and Goblins for the Sega Genesis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk7qTNsvI44

IJI for the PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UnL3e7FAMF8

Try to link videos that ONLY play the music to avoid spoilers.
A resounding "Fuck yes!" to Iji. I put that straight on my iPod after I won and I still get depressed every time I hear it. If you want another set of visuals that goes well with it, She The Ultimate Weapon is about as bittersweet as you can get. I was going to make an AMV out of it but got too depressed.

EDIT: The Ghouls'n'Ghosts ending is kinda cool, but I just couldn't stop laughing at the Engrish.

It's a nice reward after Scenario B.

Also,
A reflective ending track from the divine digits of Frank Klepacki.

(The mods might not like people just linking videos btw. Pretty sure it's against the rules.)
I think that's only if you link to your own videos with no context.
OT: I choose Nier.
Goddamn I love Nier.

Damn it, you ninja'd me!

The only other one I can think of that I really liked was the end credits to Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. I wish I could find an MP3 of that.

I actually really like that one. Never played the game although I've been aching to and have been regretting not picking it up while it was on steam sale, but regardless that's a fantastic bit of music.

Thank you for sharing.

This, hands down. Bastion is my favorite game of 2011 and the soundtrack was a big part of the reason why.

Well these themes are worth a definite listen and they make the experience that much more fulfilling after playing through the game.

It's not really at the end of the game as such, but it's during one of the final missions of Modern Warfare 2 that it plays. I admit the game wasn't perfect but bringing in Hans Zimmer gave the soundtrack more character. The song 'Retreat and Reveille' from the soundtrack is probably my favorite track from the game, and it can be used without context. Even the name conjures up images so a context can be built up around it without any difficulty. The moment where it becomes more powerful is something I enjoy, since the transition between the slower and sadder sounds to the heavier sounds is a great way for music to reflect a major change in the tone of an event.

From what I remember this track plays during the mission where you assault Makarov's estate. Wherever it played I can remember listening to it and smiling because of how well it complemented the onscreen action.

I've always been partial to this song from Tenchu for the PSX.
