Well there are always others who appreciate the same things as you its worth remembering but if I had to choose I would say Black and White 1. It had ambition, it had depth, it is the only god game where I have ever actually felt like a god and not a tactician/mayor. It was also broken as hell but thats why I loved it! Peter Molenuex's games of late lack all the charming ambition of his previous games possibly owing to public demand for stable less idealistic games.

Final FAntasy X-2.

Loved the game, loved the continuation of Yuna story and the resolution you can have. Loved being in Spira again! However everyone else I know wouldn't play it.
Thank goodness SOMEONE else enjoyed it! =D

For me it was, well, THAT,

and Final Fantasy 13. Yes it was painfully linear but to me the story was absolutely incredible. And that kind of story can't really be told in any other way (except for possibly an anime?)
Well I'm not gonna hate on that because A: Love the user name. And B: I already had my FF13 rant for the week LMAO
Thank you? =P

That would be Brink, Shadowrun, generally all RPGs and Dynasty Warriors

that's what my real life friends think at least...
So with you on Brink and Shadowrun. SR I load up from time to time to have some old fashioned FPS style play. Sadly I end up doing so against bots. But sometimes it is fun to have a 50 kills 0 deaths game

Alice Madness returns as it keeps being reffered to as a horrible game on this site.

Personally, it struck my fancy for 3d platforming, pleasant visuals and weird tim burtonesque setting and tone just bang on.

And then my cd broke and I was sad :(

I thought it was a decent sequel. It felt more like a extended epilogue to me but I still liked it.

Dokapon Kingdom (fucking LOVE it!), Dynasty Warriors, and Zelda 2.

Also, since the OP didn't specify VIDEO games, add Risk to that list. People today are lame - no one wants to sit around a table for five hours moving little plastic men! ;-;
Who the hell hates Risk? Good lord, some of the best hang out sessions i've ever had have been with buddies sitting around a Risk board for hours and hours. We used to have Round RObin elimination tournaments with that. I suck now, but back when like early 2000's, i enjoyed it alot and was decent

I thought Crysis did more for the FPS genre than any Halo sequel did, and maybe even more than COD:MW, although it was a fantastic game. I can't say that I've heard that much bad about it, although I'm sure it was overreactive screaming for more dual wielding or similiar nonsense.

And to mirror another poster, I'd have a lot more to say if the opposite question was asked, I just have a low tolerance for the usual gamer bullshit.

This should be changed into something of a 'guilty pleasures' thread, to be honest.

As for my contribution to the thread? Dynasty Warriors 6: empires, and Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3.

... What? Don't look at me like that, I like Dynasty Warriors, okay?

Shadow the Hedgehog. Most of the modern Sonic games that I've actually played really were half ass (not counting the stellar imo Sonic Battle for GBA) though I still had some fun with them, but I genuinely enjoyed StH and do plan to buy it again one day.

Also, Risk is awesome. Monopoly... not so much.

Have you played Sonic Generations yet? It's basically the best sonic game to come out since Sonic 2, IMO.

For those who said FF XII, you are not alone.
It had its problems (short, weak characterication), but it was a decent game, even more so when compared to FF XIII or FF XIV.

Mount and Blade. Everything I could imagine in an RPG/RTS. It is the perfect blend of ideas...just needs some smoothing out in some areas.
