I cant have my any of my media in just any order they have organised. The first thing is they have to be organised into different media types such as books and films also games are organised on what platform they are on, then they are organised alphabetically to the title series first letter of the first word excluding the word "The", and if they are in the same series they ordered into when they where released. Does any one else have a way to organise there media or do you just put it into any order?

Yes, my organisaiton includes having about 8 random piles of games around my living room, ordered with the last one I played on top.

Most of my stuff is separated quite distinctly. Those that I consider to be 'critically excellent' (e.g. Magician for books, Copenhagen for films, Rome: Total War for games) are segregated to the only visible shelf. All others are placed (split by media) behind wall-scroll facades. Organised as follows: genre; author; series title (or chronology if applicable); individual title. Alphabetically, of course. For music, replace 'author' with 'artist/composer'. For DVD's/games, remove 'author' entirely.

I've got my dvd collection organized by live action and animated/foreign and then alphabetically. My games I have organized alphabetically by title and my books are alphabetically by author's last name. Finally, my music is organized by itunes.

I organise my movies in terms of running time. So if I want a quick watch I go to this end of the shelf. if I want to kill a sunday afternoon, I go to the other end.

I organise my games in order of serial number, just to fuck with people.

Books? None fiction and Fiction in different sections, Book size, alphebetise by author surname.

I've got my books by genre and author. Games by platform and alphabetical by title (ignoring 'the' and 'a'). Films alphabetical by title (again ignoring articles). My CDs are just one big pile.

I don't really organize any other media besides Vidyah games.

When I do organize my games, they must follow this strict conduct:

1. Platform (Oldest to Newest)
2. Game Name (A to Z)
3. Game Age (Oldest to Newest)
4. Game Publisher (A to Z)
5. My own personal score of the game (Popularity)
6. Classics towards the front of the stack while newer titles near the back.

I'm a stickler about my organization. And no, it's not OCD. I was tested.

Games, I organize by platform and then in alphabetical order.

DVD's, anime series/movies, random anime singles, Yu-Gi-Oh! DVD's (Shut up, I have a lot of random Yu-Gi-Oh! DVD's...), live-action films, live-action TV, and Western animation are how I separate them and then put them in alphabetical order.

Books, I sort as comics, graphic novels (Trade paperbacks or whatever), manga volumes, Yu-Gi-Oh! manga volumes (Seriously shut up), and my novels are kind of scattered. I try to order them, but I have a really small shelf, and I don't have much space in this crappy old house.
