Thanks for all the suggestions guys! It does indeed seem there are more than I realised.

I would however like to say that games like L4D and other Valve titles are already on my Steam account so it's not what I would be looking for.
Mass Effect and CoD4 I already have for the PC as well. Mass Effect is a very good game indeed and the sequel really interests me a lot. As does Dead Rising. I guess with both Dead Rising games and ME2 that's a good start and something that pushes me towards buying the 360.

Also, even if it's a bit of a derailment of the topic: Does anyone have any insights in the whole thing about multi platform titles. Are there much of a difference aside from the blatant lack of DLC on my PS3? I'm not into looking at slight variations in lightning and what not, but I seem to recall hearing that games often run a bit better on the 360. Is there any truth to that? And if so, does it matter?

I'm not taking my time to read all of the previous posts . . . but I'll post my opinion.

In terms of actual disc/retail games, get both Mass Effect and The Orange Box. Both can be picked up for about $20 and are just fantastic.

In terms of downloadable/Arcade games, get Castle Crashers and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. You can get both of them for $25 on the XBLA marketplace.

I've found there's rarely any difference, the only time there is, it seems to be when a game is developed for the 360 then outsourced to be ported to the PS3, can't remember that happening recently though, Valve were the main culprits but now they don't even bother to release to the PS3. You've got a Steam account anyways, so that shouldn't matter much to you.

Oh, you mentioned Dead Rising 2, that'll be multiplatform, so you can get that for either your PS3 or your PC.

I'd recommend a 360 to someone who doesn't already have a console, but not to someone who does. So many of the best games get released on 360, PS3 and PC now that, to my mind, there's nothing that compelling that's only on 360. Halo 3 is good and all, but there are plenty of other FPS games around on other platforms.

Don't get Speedball 2 on the 360. It's terrible.

I believe differences between games are usually slight. The early consensus seemed to be that the PS3 had slightly higher-resolution graphics for still images but the 360 had graphics that ran slightly smoother. Having played both consoles, I've never noticed a difference. I think that issue is for hardcore pixel-counters only.

One of the 360's best exclusives was BioShock. Obviously that is not exclusive anymore. Dead Rising was also a great exclusive but DR 2 will be multiplatform. There are not many outstanding games that are exclusive and if you already have a PS3 and a PC then you probably don't really need a 360. The XBL marketplace is definitely worth a look though.

Allright. I'm not really a pixel counter so that wont be an issue.

It seems that a lot of the games I'm looking at will be on several systems. I guess that lessens the need for haveing them all.

And yes, I realise that Speed Ball 2 is not exactly the best game ever, but I have a lot of memories playing that game back in the '90s. But I can play it on the Amiga when I get it working I guess. :) It would be fun to play it again without the hassle though.

Yeah, I've heard it was/is a good game. I tried the demo on the 360 a while ago and couldn't really follow it, so I checked a few reviews and remember mostly negative comments, so it wasn't just me. But I've just now gone back to refresh my memory and found positive reviews [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/xbox360/speedball2brutaldeluxe?q=speedball%202] too, so... maybe it's not as bad as I remember. Well, it's cheap enough, so you can't really go wrong. I retract my warning! :)

You have an obligation to get L4D if you have not already purchased the PC version.

Also the standard:
Halo
Gears
Mass Effect
Dead rising

You really cant go wrong with those.
