I wonder how long before they announce they're closing down the service entirely. And if they will do anything to allow people to keep their games.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess "not long" and "no"
So what will happen to my few games on steam that are tied to the horrid service? Like my all time favorite Fallout3...

What is their escape plan? I want to keep playing the game I paid for and I don't care if I loose the achievements, which is the only link it uses for that horrid system.

Hmm, looks like they're going to try a full relaunch of the service if that new hire is still any indicator of future endeavors. This may have been his first step to steamification.

People will treat it as abandonware. meaning they will pirate the hell out of it.

Let me guess, Games for Windows Live Marketplace is now going to become a part of the Windows 8 app store?

Cause that's an idea insane enough to appeal to Microsoft.

"People aren't buying windows 8? Make all our games only run on it!"

Same sort of trick they tried with Vista, we all saw how well that went.
well, just like they did with vista, with 8 they now essentially banned all sales of windows except 8. you cannot legally buy windows 7 now.
Microsoft was using such extortionate tactics for years. Actually i learnt that you should buy corporate edition of windows. it has same features as Ultimate, and much less DRM crap.
