Looking a little to the future here, but once you're out of a cast GameCube pads are the perfect angle for comfortable gaming with a busted wrist (from experience), so something along those lines?

Advance Wars or Fire Emblem both come highly recommend as chill take your time games. You just direct your troops, give an order, and then finalize the decision, so there's two levels at which you can cancel if you make a mistake. I'd also recommend the Monkey Island ports of 1 and 2 for PSN / Xbox Live / PC. Both very fun and you can even play them one handed a lot of the time.

I fell off a horse yesterday and broke both of my wrists. Since I enjoy playing fastpasted RPGs and FPSs, I've run into a problem of not being able to play them anymore.

So escapists I ask you to recomend me some games I can play on ps3 or PC with broken wrists.
sounds like an interesting story, care to share this equine adventure?

Not sure what exactly having a broke wrist entails. What exactly can you not do anymore?

I'd say Crusader Kings 2, if you enjoy that sort of game. It's not that fast-paced and can easily be enjoyed slowly and without using ones hands that much.

fable three? bioshock? kingdoms of amalur? you could probably complete most of those without a head, let alone broken wrists.

Well since you seem to be able to type on a keyboard, how about some nice text based adventure games form the 80s?

Final Fantasy games are usually pretty chilled out. Now would be a great time to play FF13 - the thing basically plays itself after all! =P

Diablo II/III perhaps?
You pretty much just have to lay your hand on the keyboard and mouse and the hands do the rest. You'll move the mouse a bit, but after some checking my wrist was still. Don't know if it might still hurt though.

pokemon games. I broke my right arm once, learned to play pokemon with only one hand, isn't hard. just a bit slower paced. Depending on the console, you could possibly play a jrpg?

Both wrists broken, that sucks, hopefully you'll be able to do something...

I would advise something turn-based, maybe you'll find a liking to it ;) Fallout 1 and 2 are fun and don't require any fast hand movements, and if you're willing to try out turn-based strategy then Heroes of Might and Magic or The Disciples are also fun games.

Someone beat me to mentioning HoMM?

Kudos.

Yes, Heroes of Might and Magic is your best friend with broken wrists. I broke both of mine snowboarding when I was a kid and those games helped me through the painful process.

(Pro tip: HoMM 3 is the best, so start there.)

I hear that Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is really easy on the hands...
Don't even.

Try older JRPGs with completely turn-based battle systems. I advocate Dragon Quest V.

Anything turn-based will be a good choice. Are you into Civilization-type games or hex-based wargames?

Well, when I broke my wrist, I could still use my thumbs. If that's the case with you, you can still play anything that uses a traditional controller.

You don't use your wrists when you use a controller unless you're playing on the Wii, so any console game should be fine.

I don't think you need to move your wrists in Kinect games.

Also maybe look for a turn-based RPG or Strategy, you can cool down after each action without being penalized.
