Sadly, games set during the renaissance are fairly rare, and nonexistant on the PS3 except for the AC series. Most games that take place in a similar setting will be fantasy games like Dragon Age.

In that case, the OP might want to look out for The Saboteur. All the ladies love an Irishman.

How about God of War 3? Or maybe Uncharted 2 (even though I didn't like it much other than the scenery). God of War has no camera to fiddle with, the platforming and problem solving isn't too intense. The only problem I could forsee is the QTEs and maybe the sex minigame.

Prototype is a lot like assassin's creed 2.

You've got the ability to freerun over any surface, including straight up the sides of buildings, you have a ability select wheel, and you have combat that mostly focuses on melee.

It might be a bit more difficult for her because there's a lot more variables in the environment to account for in Prototype than in Assassin's Creed, and Prototype is much faster, but they control similarly enough that it shouldn't be too difficult for her to make the transition.

Now if she actually cares about the story and wants to play it is a whole other story.

So will you be making a homoerotic song for Ezio?
Actually I was genuinely thinking about doing one called 'Gay For Ezio'

Being an Irishman myself I can agree.

Fuck yeah, Sean Devlin, wooo!!!

OT: Well, actually, The Saboteur is really worth it for people who liked AC - similar parkour, the stealth is more... liberating, the characters are pretty fun.

Yeah, I would definitely recommend that.

I recommend The Saboteur as well.
I really enjoyed it, and there's shooting but not like fps shooting, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The Sly Collection, I haven't played it so I don't know if there are many changes from the PS2 originals. That's all I can really think of.
That's what I was gonna say.
I, too, haven't played the Collection, but the originals had sneaking, pickpocketing and running around on roofs. What more do you need?
i was gonna say that too but i have played it. It is good and it has all of the things found in old games the games nothing changed also the Prince of Persia collection it is made by uibsoft (they made assassin's creed) and it's not that much of a different

Incase anyone else has the same dilemma as the OP (or if the OP still has this prob hehe), get your girlfriend to try the Portal series.

I'm female & have similar tastes to what you've described your girlfriend as having, and Portal 1 & 2 are both games that I've repeatedly gone back to & played through all over again.

Skyrim and/or Oblivion would be great ones to get her to try, I also love both.
As well, The Witcher 2 (I've never played 1, so can't comment on it) and Diablo 3 (once it comes out) would probably be ones that she'd enjoy.

(and sorry for resurrecting an old thread ... I came across it via Google'ing for some game ideas, and just couldn't resist offering some help and/or ideas!!!)

I don't know how many of the games are actually PS3 ... but they're definitely all available on PC. And if she needs a controller, the Razer ONZA gaming controller works on most of them.

Tomb Raider? Uncharted? (not sure on that one, don't have a PS3)

Mirror's Edge I'd recommend, mostly because I recommend it to everyone.

You mentioned AC2 'n' Brotherhood, no Revelations?

EDIT: Wait a damn minute this is a necrothread. Why am I posting in this?

*sigh* I gotta look more carefully at the postdates.

being a big fan of AC i would tell her to play them starting from the first one...they all intertwine, the first one you start off as altair, then through the AC 2, AC brotherhood, and AC revelations you play as Ezio and he slowly gets older through the games and then you have AC 3 which starts off in a whole new era and you play as Connor but they all follow the same story, and each one just gets better. I am still waiting for the new AC, this one is actually set in the caribbean so its all pirates and has sort of a pirates of the caribbean theme to it but each games follows the previous.

another game to try would be dishonored, think assassins creed in 1st person with alot of magic and technology its absolutely wicked.

I did just finish the new tomb raider as well and gameplay was action packed and completely mind blowing

Why don't you get her Assassin's Creed: Revelations? If she likes AC and she cares about the story, she's gonna love that one.
