Movie-wise, the most recent one that comes to memory is the end of Big Fish when
His dad finally succumbs to the cancer and its up to him to finish the story. Then how he tells his own son the story of his dad's life in the same fashion that it was told to him growing up. If my explanation makes no sense, sorry.
Makes me miss my Grandfather every time I watch it.
Game-wise, as laughable as it may seem, the quest line in WoW that deals with bringing the Taunka into the fold after
they pretty much lose most of their homeland due to the encroaching Scourge, and the Horde says "join us and we will help you rebuild."
Maybe its just me, but the full Blood Oath of the Horde (as melodramatic and over the top as it may seem) signifies true loyalty to those that (be it literal or metaphorical) save you from near destruction.
Nothing makes me cry, I can come close, but nothing actually pushes me over that edge. I could go into anime (if we were I would add Kannazuki No Miko and Chrono crusade's endings) but since we're talking about movies the only one that can get me there is Passchendaele. If you havn't heard of it I don't blame you, it's a Canadian production, and it is in spite of that fact that it's a great movie.
See, I disagree. I don't think it was that sad. Though I think I'm the only person on the planet to think that. :/ I will admit that it had a beautiful quiet dignity to it, but beyond that... most of the time, I think people exaggerate how sad they found the movie so that they can validate anime as a medium to both themselves and others. Which is, of course, unnecessary.
Two movies that always get me are La Vita e Bella and The Green Mile. Oh gawd.
As for games... nothing, really. :/ One of these days I'll find one well-written enough.
Click was sappy, not funny and incredibly preachy, but fucking hell I cried like the wife of a Martyr in that scene. I actually called my dad and arranged to come home for Christmas after seeing that scene, something you couldn't bribe me to do otherwise.
Not necessarily a movie or game, but if a game or movie ever has Feathery Wings by Volaire in the soundtrack you can guarantee I'll be in tears.
