Games randomly pausing

I just bought a new laptop thats is very powerful with an i7 and an ati 5650 games run on high but for some reason it keeps having random pauses in every game i tried dragon age origins Bad Company 2 and stalker shadow of chernoble all have these random pauses for like half a second does anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like a driver error to me.

Have you updated the drivers?

Well I dunno about Bad Company 2 pausing, Healer sounds right, but I do know ShoC random pauses often for me too. I use the Radeon HD 5770. I think the ShoC pauses are for loading parts of the level, but I'm not sure.

its literally ever 30 seconds that it pauses just trying to get through a dialog is a pain

also it says all drivers are up to date
