-Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Squeenix has claimed that they're giving Ubisoft free reign on this title; and I'm hoping this is the case. Then again, there have been HOW many terrible, awful titles backed by Squeenix released in the past year alone?
(Answer: Far far too many. Well beyond FF13 and FF14)
It's being made by Eidos, and to be fair, it has received glowing previews across the board. I mean, you'll rarely read a harsh preview, but if something's obviously not good you can still tell.
Rockpapershotgun had a batch of articles on it recently if you wanted to check it out.
Yeah, I meant Eidos Montreal, not Ubisoft...
This is what I get for staying up well past my normal bedtime while sick...
The previews so far look OK I guess, though it's the level design and dialogue that I'm most interested in (and if the original design philosophy has been retained at all).
EDIT: Good thing I sometimes read through. This one didn't appear on my notification..

I might be misunderstanding this, but "this last" one? You have DNF, Serious Sam 3, Bulletstorm, Rage (possibly, but doubtful in terms of old style shooter), and Painkiller Redemption (hopefully won't suck). So there are a lot more this year than usual...
I didn't think People Can Fly was doing a double-shift with another Painkiller title right on the tail of Bulletstorm.
Bulletstorm, while it looks neat is definitely NOT a throwback title; it's an adaptation of current shooters to a different tone (one that is crude, inappropriate and very arcade-esque).
Rage is another id-Software title that's bound to fly under the radar. As amazing as the Doom 3 engine was, I didn't really get to see a whole lot of action from it outside of, well, Doom 3. Quake Wars came about 5 years behind its time. This doesn't leave me with a lot of confidence.
I've heard rumors of a Doom 4 being made in the style of the originals, but nothing more.
Finally: Serious Sam 3? How did they manage to get Croteam back together?
