I very much dislike GTA 4 because of the realism. I really want to be able to screw a hooker in a dark alley, shoot her, take my money back, instantly switch to a Molotov Cocktail, hurl it at a cop car, kill the cops, take the flaming cop car, run over hundreds of nameless civilians, run from the cops, and enter my house and be acquitted of all charges. It'd be nice.

Jet Set Radio Future.

It got high score from Gamespot and IGN and it is absolute shite. They must have been bribed.
I never, ever take the bait in threads like this. I mean everyone hates Halo 3 and it's still the most played game on XBox Live. Halo 2 is the most played original XBox title. Plenty of other games I like get thrashed in threads like this, and it's just not worth arguing about because people have a wide range of tastes and opinions, and I respect that.

But JSRF being 'shite' as you put it? You are wrong.
I completely agree. I loved JSRF. It was fun, witty, and just hard enough for a 10 year old not to lose attention.

Portal.

Yes, Portal.

I realize it's seemingly, the "best game of 2007", a breath of fresh air for puzzle games, innovative to the nth degree, and ingenious beyond words, but what I got was a criminally short puzzle game with large doses of black humour and a catchy theme music.

I do not hate Portal, far from it, it's great. I just don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

The throw myself on the bandwagon, GTA4. It was fun, but the support characters broke flow with their constant demands for attention. Also, the game seemed to drag on and on.

Another overrated game... the first Halo. It was ok, but the series didn't come into it's own until the third game, which I found to be fun and and have a passable storyline. RElated to this, I find the third Halo game to UNDER - rated. Anygame that lets me jump from a ledge onto my firends space ship, plant a sticky grenade, then jump to another ledge, gets a gold star in my books.
how can it be under rated it got 10/10 (mostly)u cant have a higher mark then that
It got good reviews in the media when it cmes out, however the whole game often seems to smeared with the whole frat-boy demographic thing, and then certain people will avoid it like the plague.

Basically any Final Fantasy game that comes out. The only exception would be the original Final Fantasy on NES and that mostly because it pretty much established the genre for consoles.

Just to bring something new to the repetitive responses, Half Life games and Bioshock *locks himself in bomb shelter*
Ok, I can understand the Bioshock one. I loved the game, but thats becasue what I want most fr4om a game is atmosphere and exploration, but I agree that as a first person shooter, or even in the area of general gameplay, Bioshock leaves some to be desired.

But Half Life? Really? They first one was pretty good, and the second one was even better. I have not played the episodes because I'm waiting to play them all in one go. Did you play the X-Box version? I heard they messed with the enemie placement and level design.

I have half life 1 and 2, and yes I do think they are overrated. Yes I will admit they are solid, well done FPS games, but they are not the jesus of FPS games like people make it out to be. i find it in the same boat as Halo, it's a solid game but not worthy of it's massive hype. And yea I found the story to be "eh" and i don't thin gordon freeman is a good character...at all.

And no I did not play the xbox version, I am one of them PC elitists lol

Feel I must jump on the Half Life wagon, amazing storytelling (eg doesn't ram it down you throat with a toilet brush) but not actually that much fun, so much crate smashing!

Same with Bioshock, I really want to finish it, its beautiful and has a great atmosphere but its just not a fun game to actually play, I never thought that shooting flame from my fingers at someone before mercilessly gunning them down could feel so mundane...

halo 3, took the great stuff from the first one and told it to fuck off

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, tried playing it but my character kept getting wasted because I didn't go home or find a restaurant to go eat, wait hold on, whats that you say GTASA? before I go on a killing frenzy for fun I need to have dinner? who are you, my fucking mum? are you gonna ask me if I'm wearing clean underwear next?

CounterStrike, I started playing SoF2 so counterstrike had nothing to offer me.

-star wars force unleashed (got bored of it in 2 days!!)
-Little Big Planet(maybe not overrated but i just didt want to create so many 2.5d worlds it hurts ur brain lol)
how about u?

EDIT:it seems that theres big hate for GTA4 i dont know y i loved it!! could everyone try to explain ur answer please
Sorry about this but..
Dear god sir would it kill you to type out the extra two letters to finish the words you type? or is that extra seconds just going to waste your precious lurking time?

Back to your topic... Halo games seem overrated to me, they aren't really that much fun and yes little big planet because it doesn't feel like much of a game to me, nothing to really motivate me enough to go through all these user created levels which mostly suck.

Call of Duty 4 sucks so big time. 2 was best in my opinion. Also Halo 3 like it haven't already been said. Halo 1 rocked big time but halo 3? Oh noes..

GTA 4
SW TFU
Fable 2(you can't actually look like a demon, horns alone don't count)
Little Big Planet
Any game that has an add on during the Super Bowl is instantly overhyped.

DDR, Its ok if you enjoy this game but putting it into school pe programs just takes it to far (I am not kidding)
Starcraft, I enjoyed it but I found the campaign modes difficulty jumped to damn near ridiculous levels at points.
Super Mario Galaxy, played it for 20 minutes and it made me want to hurl my wii mote through the screen... I just did not like it, the planetary movement just made it nauseating to play.
I would say Star Wars the Force unleashed but there were are no real overatings of that game, apart from star wars fans, everyone agrees that it is average at best.

Killzone 2, fanboys already think this is GOTY 2009.
I think its pretty ignorant to call a game overrated that hasn't even come out yet. Please wait until a game has been released until judging it. Cause you don't know, I thought HAZE was going to be the shittiest game i've ever my laid eyes on, until I played it, and I really enjoyed myself.

I will be burned at the stake for this, but I really don't like Deus Ex. Admittedly I didn't play very far, but even with spending most of my starting points in a single weapon, you are too inaccurate with guns. Just not my style of gameplay, I guess.
