I'm not big into online shooters but the Splatoon test-fire demo thing really hyped me up for that game. Of course I understand the difference between Splatoon and TF2 or Halo but still, I didn't stick with those games for a reason. I also dislike sports games in general but NFL blitz was a football game I loved. The thing is, Blitz is an arcade football game whereas every other one is a realistic sim with the word Madden or some weird letters on.

I've never been into any sports games, yet I love Sega Soccer Slam on Gamecube. Sure, it's hardly a realistic take on soccer but the basics are all there.

Don't Starve was the exception to the rule that I hate minecraft/survival style games. I only wish Don't Starve did away with the magic element and kept it more realistic. Still, great little survival game.

Ikaruga was the exception to shoot em ups. No particular reason why with this one. I don't feel it does all that much unique or special within the genre but it simply felt forgiving enough for me to persist with it to the final stage.

Street Fighter is my exception to fighting games. This is almost entirely because their controls are prohibitive. But even something simplistic like Smash Bros fails to provide lasting enjoyment for me.

I dislike single-player games, but Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and the Batman Arkham Series made me do multiple playthroughs. (Also the Portal 2 co-op was one of the best experiences ever).

I love co-op games, but Dungeon Defenders was an absolute chore to play. (Turns out that I hate item management more than anything else).

I dislike consoles, but the Wii U has games that are CALLING MY NAME. (I also refuse to believe Capcom isn't working on a console Monster Hunter. I love the game too much to play it on a tiny handheld.)

I dislike puzzle games (generally preferring adventure games with puzzles connected to the story) but the Professor Layton series was pretty enjoyable. Not all of the puzzles were good and many were a chore, but the characters made the game worth playing.

I also dislike any 3rd person RPG with the camera sits behind the character and you stroll around killing stuff and levelling up (Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Witcher, Dark Souls etc). That said, the Risen and Gothic series are great. The handcrafted quests and world just work for me and make all other RPGs feel amateurish.

I generally don't like multiplayer focused shooters, but Killing Floor is one of my biggest time sinks.

I don't like sports games, but I have had so much fun with the Mario Tennis games.

I generally don't like music games, but I love Audiosurf, part because I can choose any song I like.

I don't play sports games... except when Mario's in it... especially in soccer and tennis...
Seconded. Mario sports games are fun as hell. Mario Strikers does actually have an unexpectedly steep difficulty curve - It's harder than you think a Mario sports game is going to be.

So yes, they are a blast to play...and rage-worthy. You think Mario Party ruins friendships? Try Mario Strikers. Odds are that you'll never want to talk to each other again. XD

As for other games? Well, if board game-ish games are accepted, I've never really understood Monopoly or found it all that fun...but man, is Fortune Street entertaining.
